Okay, so riddle me this: if Visa and MasterCard are doing this, how the hell do any of the other porn companies get their money? I mean I know cash is king and all that but who's getting them their payments? Are they going through Deutsche Bank? Someone must be facilitating their legal transactions.
Paid porn sites use processors based overseas so maybe that gets around it. Dont ask me how i know that...

Anyway....
It's a payment processor/law suit thing.

Step one off this stuff not happening is getting rid of SEASTA/FOSTA, which will never happen because nobody want to be against the "anti-sex-trafficking law" despite those laws being literally counter productive.
I seriously dont know how this is true. Why would credit cards try to crack down on Onlyfans but not care about any other site? Unless Onlyfans doesnt have explicit warnings in regards to content like other porn sites. And if that was the case why wouldnt they simply add that info up front to keep the gravy train running.

Maybe it is because the performer is directly tailering content to the person paying making seem more prostitution like? Because at least if you pay for porn that porn is generic content and not directed to the individual person paying for it, thus avoiding a prostitution law.

Hmm interesting. Oh well sucks for Onlyfans then.

Well even then it could be argued all that's happening is made to order porn. For it to be prostitution there has to be actual sex involved between two parties in exchange for money, drugs or gifts. If all you've done is drop $5,000 for someone to make a one hour long fantasy roleplay thing then you're just getting boutique porn. Its literally the difference between buying Dell (BangBros) or from a custom order shop (Pick an OnlyFans creator).

In fact I'm damn sure a wag or three has managed to argue themselves out of prostitution charges by recording themselves and arguing they're producing porn and not just being a sex worker. I mean is the issue that Escorts and Sex Workers were using OnlyFans as a sort of bidding website to arrange things? Is that where this has come from?

I am guessing the same reasons some lefty gamers target Dead or Alive 5/6. It's the biggest game with very scanty clad women. Just like Onlyfans is the biggest patreon like supplier of porn. So they are a big target or to avoid potential future backlash from said large porn site.

In war you don't take out the smallest targets, you take out the center of gravity. For the non-on the street sex worker that is OnlyFans.

So the BBC just dropped a bombshell

Internal documents, leaked to BBC News, reveal that OnlyFans allows moderators to give multiple warnings to accounts that post illegal content on its online platform before deciding to close them.

Moderation specialists and child protection experts say this shows OnlyFans - which is best known for hosting pornography - has some "tolerance" for accounts posting illegal content.
In May, BBC News revealed the site was failing to prevent under-18s from selling and appearing in explicit videos, despite it being illegal for children to do so. At the time, OnlyFans said attempts to use the site fraudulently were "rare".
Now, the leaked documents show accounts are not automatically shut down if they break the site's terms of service.
Moderators have also told BBC news they have found prostitution services advertised, bestiality and material one moderator believed to be incest.

They're absolutely going after other porn sites. Sites like Booth and DLsite already need workarounds, and lord knows how long that's going to last

No kidding. I literally thought that OnlyFans is a website where pornstars go to make money by themselves, independently from porn studios. I thought that it was a kind of Uber for porn stars.
I remember first hearing about some alt-right weirdo who had been banned from every other platform starting an onlyfans and that being the moment I found it it wasn't like explicitly a porn site.

If I read this right - and there's no guarantee I am - they're drawing a demarcation line between content that is merely highly sexual; nude/erotic modelling/cosplay/exercise etc. and actually pornographic
I think the terms we are looking for are "hardcore" and "softcore" pornography.

Okay, so riddle me this: if Visa and MasterCard are doing this, how the hell do any of the other porn companies get their money? This might be connected with how a site puts itself across? No-one can be confused about what PornHub is about, because its name tells us. But "OnlyFans" has no obvious indication of pornographic content without specific checking or, presumably, going to the site itself where I expect it has warnings.

My favourite part of this is the twitch bros and youtube outrage news peddlers gleefully cacking about how these "talentless" girls are going to need to "get a real job".

Talk about a lack of self awareness, they're content creators cultivating communities and marketing themselves as a source of entertainment. Throwing rocks in glass houses and all that.

Now that is very ironic, considering the old and older generations told them the same thing. Congratulations assholes, you all just became the thing you hated and detest. Though a lot of those assholes on YT are talentless fucks who get off on others misery. Nothing last forever. Shoot, some of these types of people on YT didn't get far or their money tree started rotting due to various circumstances.

Spot on.

Simply being attractive is not a shortcut to money. It's an advantage, but attractive people are ultimately ten a penny: hitting the big time is about presentation, attitude, creativity, image, audience engagement, etc. which requires skills and talent. The same is true of gamers. The biggest gamers on Twitch etc. are not necessarily the best ones, but the ones who make watching games most fun for spectators - much of which is really their commentary, insight, attitude, etc.

Dude the ceiling for each are very different.

Even if you want to say low effort talking head content takes no effort it's not doing 2 photos and a video a week and earning $12 Million+ a year which is what some of the higher end OnlyFans users are earning.
