Aren’t DC movies generally known for being disasters more or less as it is though?

Depends on what your talking about. Man of Steel did great and fine despite some tepid responses from the online critic community. Fuck off Channel Awesome, Movie Bob, and Cinema Sins! Production for MoS went great. BvS we already know how that went. The Whedon version of JL was a shit show, and had on set racism and sexism from the fucker. Zack's cut is the "better and true version", but I am not wasting over 3 hours my life watching it. SS 2016 had its production problems because of over course correction and re-shoots, but did well because teenagers really loved the movie. Robbie and Smith being knock out hits too helped. Aquaman had no problems on all fronts. Birds of Prey did fine, but could have done better in theaters, because of COVID. The movie sold better on home video. We already know what happened with WW84. The movie is a solid B-. Still did well on HBO MAX and home video. SS2 did better on streaming and video, than theater, yet is the better movie. The Batman did awesome, despite lead actor getting COVID at the time. Peacemaker did great on all fronts, and we already know the rest about the other movies being pushed back.

The DC movies get way too much from certain people, just to sound worse than what most of them are, or inflate the quality of MCU movies. I don't like every single DCEU movie, but I won't exaggerate how bad something is just to act smart or a mindless fan of the MCU. I am not referring to you of course, I am just sick of this shit. The DCEU has an audience that cares within reason. That does not make them better or worse than MCU nor everyone else. The DCEU/DC movie I dislike is BvS. I don't hate it, but I have no interest to watch it again. Even with the Extended Cut taken in to account.

Predator 5: PREY Trailer is out and it looks sweet. My only complaint is that all the Native Americans are speaking fluent English. Sometimes I really hate Americans. By that I mean the LCD who need to be spoon fed everything and won't watch subtitled films. Weirdly the movie is launching on Hulu and will have two dialog choices. Complete English or with the NA's speaking native tongue dubbed over by the same actors. Its a strange thing to do but thats how I'll watch it.

Yeah. The trailers for Predator 2018 were good and I was a fan of just about everybody involved. I don't recall where I saw it, but somebody did a revealing documentary on everything that was cut from (2018) and all the dumb decisions the studio made. Supposedly there's exist a skeleton of a good Predator 2018 on the editing room floor.

This one is a completely different team and honestly a much better angle. I always felt Predator should be a timeless middle budget anthology film series. *fingers crossed*

I wonder if PREY is going to have a nod to the Gun in Predator 2? It appears to possibly take place in the same time period. That'd be cute.

I rarely say this, but you absolutely missed nothing and are better off to have not seen it. Theres not so much as an "oh that was neat" moment. They cut out all the funny stuff that was teased with Thomas jane and Key. Its another one where they filmed it super dark so you really dont see much action. Its generally really dumb. Olivia Munn is awful and the tease at the end is some of the dumbest shit I have ever seen and that includes the Morbius after credits. It's a shame because I've liked some of Blacks work and I was really excited to see this "dream team" fight the predator. Its not like Solo whered youd watch it just out of curiosity knowing it still might be fun, despite being a mess. Its just not even worth the time if it was free.

This trial was never anything more than a circus that allowed a large segment of the Internet to indulge in their worst instincts while caping for a washed up has been who had been ruining his career and reputation for years before he even met Heard. There is as much evidence of Depp being equally abusive if not the primary instigator (his own staff admitting to seeing Depp hit Heard, texts describing violent fantasies about her before he claims her alleged abuse of him started, past instances of violent behavior as early as the late 80s) but people buy the contradictory verdict of a jury that was half asleep and was not sequestered from being bombarded by memes and Depp's PR campaign.

People talk about the MeToo movement being derailed because of this trial as if the majority of the men hit by it didn't get off with a slap on the wrist, if they even got that much. Depp wasn't even lacking for work when the allegations first came out.

Hhm. It does look promising at least. I'd say some of the cinematography looks out of place, wrong style, for this kind of movie though. Part of my initial worries was that they'd give into the temptation to have the predator show off all its high tech toys and and end up undermining it by having the humans manage to survive those toys in really dumb ways.

As to them speaking English, it wouldn't be worth the time investment and money to get the language right and this isn't a movie that you want your watchers potentially missing something because they're looking at the bottom of the screen.

Depp did get replaced in the Fantastic Beasts film, those that might not have been a bad thing for him anyway. But yeah, MeToo was never as big and powerful as certain people feared, but it was sorta kinda something, more than usual.

Even though the movie was likely going to turn out bad for a whole host of other reasons, losing Depp was really crippling for it. His presence would have at least lifted the movie from an F to a D. Still bad, but at least better
