It's a lose--lose situation: if you lose you've been dismantled by a chimpanzee; if you win you've beaten up a harmless chimpanzee, you bastard.
That's because we've been fed lots of cozy, friendly documentaries about nature to inspire wonder. Chimps can also be a right bunch of mean, vicious bastards.

Geese are nothing if you've ever had to deal with a swan.
Well yeah, basically same story as geese, but bigger. Swans aren't as aggressive tho, whereas geese hate everything and harbor no thoughts but destruction.

Also remember that, contrary to myth, swans almost certainly cannot break your arm. Unless, maybe, you fell over and landed badly.

I can't help but feel that myth was made up to dissuade overcurious children from bothering swans.

The boring one
Let's start putting people who think they can beat a grizzly bear or an elephant into locked cage deathmatches with one. Very quickly, everyone else who once thought they could will start saying otherwise.
I expect the opposite. "They did it wrong, I would totally have... wait, just let me show you..."

I do however feel confident I could take on a goose.
I'm not. Unassuming birds are can be quite savage. I wouldn't want to piss a local swan. And seeing my mother assaulted by a very very irate female blackbird (that seemed to have quadrupled in size for the attack) taught me to accept not knowing how many eggs are in a nest.

It seems paradoxical, but generally speaking if you must pick a fight with an animal, pick a fight with a carnivore instead of an herbivore or omnivore.

Carnivores have to win death matches for food, so they don't want to fight unnecessarily in case they get injured. Herbies and Omnis don't give a fuck

I think it can be alarming if a goose comes for you because most people don't like violence generally, and don't even want to say boo to a goose.

But the average person that steeled themselves to attack and kill a goose, sure they might get a few bruises, but I think they'd win very easily.

They're also one of very few animals to have been observed taking part in a multi-generational, continuous group conflict. There are a few others (humans, ants) but very few IIRC.

Reminds me of the time last year when five chimpanzees ran away from a zoo, and they had to shoot them, killing four. At first I thought that was excessive, before finding out that chimpanzees really are dangerous, despite how cute they are.

Going great over in Xer land. Bet this dude would rather be fighting a chimpanzee

I mean, even if X banned the account, they could just make a new one. Banning the account doesn't stop free speech, except in the very short term (like minutes to get a new account set up). It's the least people can do to stop actual criminal behaviour

Note: After the NZ shooting being cast to social media, Australia put in laws about violent and criminal behaviour being broadcast on any social media platform. The platform gets fined if the dont remove it immediately. This includes groups on Facebook, so admins HAVE to moderate their own group members or they will force Facebook to take it down

I was told a more believable version of that; in so much as for a swan to do that you’d need to be a small child - like 6 or younger - or very elderly. Or have the disease Samuel L. Jackson has in Unbreakable.

But I’m very fond of swans, so I don’t do stupid things like annoy them or try and touch their eggs or cygnets.
