Here we go agian, it's that time of year when we get to yell at each other or upvote each other on which games was the best. Since the nominee announcement is just around the corner, here are my quick predictions.

GOTY:
  • FF7: Rebirth or BM: W
  • I also have a gut feeling TLOU2 Remastered is gonna be nominated.
Best Narrative:
  • Either FF7: Rebirth or BM: W again?
Best Art Direction:
  • Metaphor Refantazio
Best Score and music:
  • FF7: Rebrith
  • Dragon's Dogma 2 (I thought the music was really nice)
It's just one day before the nominee announcement, so I guess these predictions are kina pointless lol

They have an early access category right? That would be a perfect chance to make up for them robbing the original Hades by giving its sequel a try.

I am staying out this one. The VGAs are pointless as fuck, and there are much better gaming award events out there, like the Joystick awards.
Well, I guess some nominees and wins do get ridiculous, but it is still one of the more most recognized award events.

Plus, there will be tons of announcements, so there's that too.

At this point, I'm just going to wait for YouTube or do what Woolie does and get hyped when it is really warranted. I know there will be some new annoucements, but the games I am excited for, already got announced and most are coming out next year. A majority of them are on the indie side though. Unless it's something from Capcom, Nintendo, or Platinum, then I won't be interested otherwise.

They've been jokes since the start. Even when Geoff moved the awards away from the "gives no fucks, frat boy" attitude of the Spike TV days. This is the same organization that refused to give Bayonetta 2 GOTY, because it "disrespects women and is too pornish". BTW, one of the judges for that year in 2014 has an account to a softcore porn website and he still visits it. He can fuck off.

The latest TGA controversy?

At this point Geoff can’t win.
Yeah, I'm not dealing with this smug prick and he's saying nothing new. He's part of the anti-woke brigade, and he's doing that cliche click bait with bold white lettering and one or two bold words written in red.

At least he's not randomly writing some words in CAPITAL LETTERS because he fears people wouldn't PAY ATTENTION if it wasn't in CAPSLOCKS!

"Somehow we still fall into this trap that we still want to see the games that we love nominated because we feel like you are doing a disservice to the studios who are actually doing a good job..."

Nope, don't care. Even if gaming weren't so dire that it makes more sense to do awards every three years, I still wouldn't care. Never watch it. Most consumers, vast majority, of any medium don't actually care at all, exemplified by the Oscars only making big news in years and years after Will Smith slapped Chris Rock. Doesn't matter. If you need that encouragement, you're probably not a truly talented filmmaker, actor or person involved in the making of games anyway.

Welp, the nominees are here. And wow, I did not expect Black Myth Wukong, FF7 Rebirth, and Metaphor Re:Fantazio to be in so many categories together. I also love Astro getting so many recognitions.

I certainly won't be voting Elden Ring DLC for any of the categories, especially GOTY

I wouldn't try to access the TGA website right now, guys; Try it in a few hours

Alright, here are my thoughts on some of the actual categories:

GOTY:
Holy shit, it's a three-way tie between BM: W, Metaphor, and FF7: Rebirth for me. ER DLC was fun, but we are voting for actual games here.

Gonna have to go with FF7 Rebirth, in the end, though. I've seen the gameplay, even went over to a buddy's house to play it, and kinda have to agree with @CriticalGaming on being one of the greatest games ever made.

Best Game Direction:
AGAIN WITH THE THREE GAMES! And Astro Bot to add to the list! Gonna have to go with FF7 Rebirth again for actually knowing what "remake" is supposed to be

Best Narrative:
Don't know what Hellblade 2 is doing here, but w/e. It's ultimately gonna be either FF7 Rebirth or SH2 for me, but gonna have to go with SH2 since I love psychological horror/thriller

Best Art Direction:
I'm giving this one to BM: W, for capturing the famous Chinese mythology in such a interesting way. Also loved the cutscenes between each chapter as well.

Best Score and Music:
FF7 Rebirth. No question.

Best Audio Design:
I guess we gotta sneak in COD somewhere! Giving this one to SH2

Best Performance:
Briana White. Probably one of the best portrayal of Aerith

Innovation In Accesibility:
Pop: The Lost Crown. All other games in this categories have become memes

Best Independent Game AND Best Debut Indie Game:
Animal Well. Really interesting take on Metroidvania genre

Best Action Game:
Tough call between BM: W and Space Marine 2. Giving it to BM: W

Best RPG:
I laughed at the fact that Dragon's Dogma 2 wanted to challenge FF7: Rebirth.

Best Adaptation:
Fallout.

Most Anticipated:
It's a split between GTA 6 and MH: Wilds. While I am going with MH: Wilds, I have a feeling GTA 6 is gonna win

Everything else I did not care for

Slow year huh? Predictions:

GOTY: I imagine Elden Ring DLC wins "Game" of the Year or they wouldn't have made that change in eligibility. I'd give it to Balatro personally.

DIRECTION: Probably goes to the DLC too.

NARRATIVE: Probably goes to Silent Hill 2 Remake, even though all it did was copy someone else's homework.

ART DIRECTION: Again, ER DLC.

SCORE: I guess either FF or Metaphor.

SOUND DESIGN: SH2 Remake.

PERFORMANCE: Fake!James.

INNOVATION: PoP? The accessibility options are incredibly versatile.

IMPACT: Either Hellblade 2 or the Life of Strange thing.

ONGOING: *throws dart* Diablo 4?

INDIE & INDIE DEBUT: Balatro! Apparently this is the first time a solo-developed game gets a GOTY nomination too, so that's neat. Animal Well deserves it too, though.

ACTION: Either Helldivers or Black Myth.

ACTION/ADVENTURE: Silent HIll 2 Remake 100% gets this, for lack of a GOTY nomination.

RPG: ER DLC.

FIGHTING: Tekken?

FAMILY: Either Astro Bot or Plucky Squire.

SIM/STRATEGY: Unicorn Overlord, Vanillaware deserves every award it gets nominated for.

SPORTS & MULTIPLAYER: Don't know, don't care.

ADAPTATION: Fallout 100%.

ANTICIPATED: Has to be GTA 6, right?

CONTENT CREATOR: Don't know any of these people.
