Straight off the back, I am not for this. I do not like this one bit.

Not because I don't believe Blacks don't have the same right to defend themselves as whites. As a firearm owner, of course that goes contrary to my beliefs. I'm more worried about the engrained racism that is in the hearts of people who don't even know they have it. Those same people who don't bat an eye for dealing with a customer before me and talking about how they both can't wait for their children to shoot (and some do already off the record), but are taken aback to see me there and are honestly confused as to why I'd need to defend myself.

I'm worried about the Boogaloo Bois and their ilk who are so turned on by a race war that they will commit acts in hopes of igniting one.

I'm worried about the members of the NFAC themselves. Because for every 9999 members who just want their children to be safe, there will be one that should have never be welcomed into the group, and they will mar the image of the NFAC if left unchecked. And yes, Black groups have to deal with that, but the Police, the Government, and Majority Society get to toss their hundreds of thousands of bad apples over their shoulders and tell everyone it doesn't mean anything.

There are obviously people even in this very forum that won't see that the NFAC formed from a need to feel the same protection as White America enjoys, and will go through their bias. I invite you to. You just give the NFAC more validity. But as a general rule, I want to see less militias than more, even if I'd be in the group's good graces.

The only good thing I see from this is that America will crack down on militias. And not just black Militias in attempt to seem just worried about the social need for these groups. Think of how Gun Control was developed after Huey B. Freeman's Black Panthers demonstrated their constitutional right to bear arms.

You know what? I'm having a change of heart.

I don't blame them. I don't blame the "white" militias. I don't blame the police, and I don't blame the rioters. Black Lives Matter, All Lives Matter, Blue Lives Matter, I don't blame any of them. Republicans, Democrats, whatever.

They're all just trying to fix a problem that can't be fixed. They're all fighting a losing battle. They will all eventually be overwhelmed. Who am I to tell them that they're fighting it wrong?

As someone who is pro second amendment and gun ownership I see nothing wrong with this.

If they are following the law, purchasing their guns legally, and using them legally to protect themselves there shouldn't be any problem.

As I've said multiple times on this forum, you can't rely on anyone to protect you except for yourself. The police won't always be readily available (and for some communities may even be a problem), and generally the government doesn't really care about any of us or our safety.

There's nothing like the "wrong" people deciding to indulge their ownership rights to inspire gun control laws. And shootouts in the streets.

So we've devolved to the state where we have to arm up in full tactical gear, with assault rifles, and march in a military style column, just to go to the fucking grocery store? Because there might be another, opposed military style column, equally armed....and you see nothing wrong with this, and think that there shouldn't be a problem?

How is this an improvement of the current situation?

Well, it would enforce mask wearing with full tac gear while going out, reducing the spread of COVID

I see nothing wrong with a marginalized group of people exercising their legal rights to demonstrate to an uncaring government that their rights as citizens and as human beings must be respected.

If the government doesn't respect them out of the fact that they are tax paying citizens they should respect them out of the fact that they are armed and angry. A government should be afraid of its citizens. if Gerrymandering and voter suppression has caused those in the government to no longer fear being voted out then the next best thing is them fearing being shot.

But they're not going to be shooting at "the government", they will eventually be shooting each other, in the middle of the streets, where any citizen could be killed. That's not a better situation.

To be clear, I'm anti-gun on pretty much any level, and find the religious worship of the 2nd amendment to be one of the reasons we are in this fucking mess in the first place. So it's not that I don't want the NFAC specifically to have guns, I don't think ANY group, should be wandering the fucking streets, in combat gear and assault rifles, just to show they are legally ALLOWED to do it. Our country is full of too many idiots with something to prove for this to end well in any situation. Toss more guns into the mix isn't better, it's worse.

Are they? Who exactly is "each other?"

Are you expecting that NFAC members are just going to randomly turn on each other during a random march and start blasting "just cuz?"

I'm not in Happyninja's mind, but my fear is that one of the many roving alt-right militias will happily engage with the NFAC to start that race war they've been itching to get to.

And if not the race war, just a good ole random shootout to prove how manly they are.

Can't say this doesn't concern me, but it's what (mainly white) militias have already been doing. If the second ammendment guarantees the right to bear arms, then presumably that applies for all citizens.

Perhaps, but I think them being so heavily armed my be a deterrent.

It's easy for alt-right militias to talk a big talk and to harass unarmed protestors and illegal immigrants crossing the border. It's a lot different if they're actively putting themselves in danger of being shot by a group of heavily armed people with body armor.

would be to give every black man in America a concealed-carry license.
Don't need them in my state. Concealed carry only requires you be 21 or older, open carry 18 or or older. We still *offer* concealed carry permits, but only because our permits are also valid in some other states.

Which means here, it's perfectly legal for every black man to openly carry. Or concealed carry. Black women too. Along with everyone else.

Why not younger though? I thought it was a right for people, not just adults?

And why some at 18? I believe the age of majority was around 21 when the second amendment was ratified.

Don't forget we have to arm the kids walking to school or they won't be safe in their own neighborhoods with everyone armed and shooting at each other since we the police won't protect us anymore. GOD forbid they want to go play at the PARK. The HORROR. /s

You never know when a stray bullet will come flying from some guy shooting another guy over a mattress.

Or mowing the lawn because this is how people expect us to live in the US now.

You never know when kids playing outside or walking to school will be shot now because this is where this mindset of everyone needs to be armed to protect themselves has lead to.

Should hire them like the pinkertons, get a few investigations scratched off the list without the taint of 'KKK' hovering over them.

I've heard it said before that the fastest way to get the NRA to the table regarding gun control would be to give every black man in America a concealed-carry license.
I've heard it said before, yes. By people who have no idea how much the NRA would love if every American trained for a concealed carry permit.

"But Reagan and the black panthers" comes the frequent reply. You have to understand: The NRA was a radically different organization pre-1977. There has been a massive change since the Cincinnati revolution (or revolt, depending on who you ask)
