I hope so. I'd love to see a remake of MGS that felt less awkward to play(I had forgotten the original PS didn't have thumbstick and using a d-pad for movement feels akward now).

Don't think I want this. If this remake is going to be a thing at least put the original MGS1 on Switch please. It's the only good Metal Gear Solid yet I don't think you can play it anywhere except on the original Playstation or download it on PS3.

Solid 2 and the og Metal Gear are also on GOG.

Well that's good at least. Still want it on Switch though.
There's ways of making that happen too, since afaik there is a fork of Retroarch for Switch and ripping ps1 discs is pretty easy.

Snake Eater...
The Sniper Wolf VA is in the meeting, which would probably rule that one out unless they did a crazy time paradox gag. Which wouldn’t be surprising. Virtually nothing would be surprising for this series at this point.

If this is a MGS1 remake I have two basic questions:

1. Is Kojima involved?
2. Will people care is Kojima is involved?

Given the way Kojima was ousted I suspect the answer to question 1 is "no". And conventional wisdom says that people really do not care about the people behind the title, they care about the franchise and/or the studio behind it, but video gaming is more mainstream nowadays and I saw that Death Stranding promo from Rick & Morty where Kojima was mentioned by name, so it stands to reason that people know more about behind the scene stuff, but that could reveal more about what channels I listen to.

t’s gotta be a Remake of the original game with that kind of teaser. Maybe even more than that, who knows but I’m cautiously geeked.
Abandon hope all ye who enter here.

Konami doesn't do real video games anymore.

Though if anyone has a chance at changing that stance at least temporarily, it would be Sony.
Yeah, the only possibilty of an MGS remake is if konami licensed the game to sony. It could be possible you know given how kojima productions is tied to sony. No way konami is making it. Konami would have an interest to license it given a remake would boost the popularity of a fading IP.

I'd ask you not to joke about that, but I know for a fact #FucKonami would happily do it regardless, because they do not care what any of us think.
Yeah, I don't trust Konami to handle their own bowel movements without messing up through their characteristically incompetent brand of tone-deaf opportunism. Though if Sony is involved like others are alluding to, it could very well be Bluepoint Games if any dev, as they've been obtained by Sony and they already cut their teeth working on the MGS HD collection of ports in 2011. If one were to indulge in wild speculation, Bluepoint have no announced project right now too, sooo... *Awkward silence*

There's a reason I put the Konami logo in the "Gaming Jokes" thread. And honestly, at this point it seems to have moved past crass indifference and evolved into simmering hatred for anyone who would want them to make games to buy.

I'm pretty sure MGS works with the analog stick just fine. Control-wise it's works far better than other shooters from the PS1 times because it doesn't actually try to play like a shooter like say Syphon Filter or Winback.

I was just continuing on the lyrics from Adam's post above me.

I played the downloadable one from PSN on the PS3 last time(the legacy collection I was playing gave me a download code rather then putting the game on disc). If there was a way to make the analog sticks work I didn't see it. Made the REX fight a PITA(more than it is already).

Maybe the PC version does, since the PC port is now available for digital download.
