I mean Whedon's pal Devin Faraci literally admitted on twitter to walking up to multiple women at parties and grabbing them by the crotch and was then promoted to editor of Birth Death Movies. He was eventually fired and ousted but that was only when staff all refused to work under him

Though in the name of honestly I will say there were complaints from the same people, it's just the idiots who are trying to portray hypocrisy (because no character is allowed to evolved, no people allowed to change their views over time, everyone must always be set in place and they never developed Cara Dune any further as a character etc etc) managed to fail to actually show the same people calling her one thing and then another.

Problem is when people do literally come out claiming they want moral codes in place to stop certain content being allowed.
Criticism isn't censorship by claiming things are harmful or shouldn't be allowed well that's very much presenting a view said elements should be censored.
Hell censors of the past were very much pushing the "We don't want to censor anything" angle. Mary Whitehouse being a great example
She even says "We don't want anything censored or banned" or words to that effect. Then later goes on to say how she's trying to push the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) to do their job and ban or demand cuts to films.

Any criticism of certain things certain groups like is trying to censor it. Can't say Neil Druckman's The Last of Us Part II writing is bad or it's trying to censor him. But it's perfectly fine for said groups to then say anime butt poses cause rape and shouldn't be allowed to exist because that's just criticism not trying to censor anything.
It's the same song and Dance bullshit censors have been pulling since the days of Mary Whitehouse. Kinda yes that was her point and that as said before the camps and chambers you have to push to dehumanise or legitimise attacks on certain groups. Like I dunno say pushing the idea of using Eugenics to weed remove said people from the gene pool etc......
In terms of why it matters.
Well the claim being pushed is "Gina was mean for no reason calling people out for things no-one did" when as the many, many screenshots the account I posted has compiled of many many more posters sending her threats and abuse. No Gina calling people out for being nasty to her wasn't due to 3 people or just a couple of people being nasty or as some are pushing the claim she did it for no reason other than to be mean. Gina has had month after month of this bullshit and seemingly unlike a lot of celebrities she was actually using social media and not paying some manager to do it for her so if she was checking her mentions yeh for the past year or more she's just been seeing floods of abuse pouring into her mentions so she called it out. Which then the people really hating her just used as ammo to try and frame her as mean and nasty and attacking minority communities.
Yes this is what happens on twitter but now it seems people are mad because Gina called it out to an extent and you're not allowed to do that, you can only complain about people being nasty to you if you're "Righteously fighting on the right side of history" or some nonsense like that.
The truth is being lost and instead it's just narratives about what happened and what went down and relying on people not checking or trying to suppress or ignore claims that contradict the narratives.
Well, you know: people. There are some people who do one thing, and some people who do another thing, and there's potentially at least some overlap between those people, so they're all really "people", aren't they?
