Well A lot of us are worried about the Democratic Party getting cold feet, luckily this bill has passed the house. Now we just got to hope the Senate doesn't get cold feet.

Oh, fuckloads. Main thing is that it would ban qualified immunity; that is to say, being a police officer would no longer provide immunity from prosecution for actions taken on the job. It would also ban chokeholds as a method of restraint by police. Also bans police from racial profiling, bans lethal force as an acceptable action by police where other actions are possible, introduces a requirement to verbally warn before force is deployed where feasible, measures to stop police forces loading up on military surplus, grants to pay for officers being hired from the communities they would police, makes body cameras a requirement in some circumstances, among other things. Not all of these will get through the Senate intact, however.Probably belongs in current events and also, what does the bill actually do?
Something of an understatement, I fear. Not all of these will get through the Senate intact, however.
... remembering that $1.9 trillion bill that got nerfedSomething of an understatement, I fear.
