Obsidian Would Love Another Chance at Fallout

Ok, I realize that it isn't your job to be an expert on the history of every single game franchise ever, so I'm not going to judge you here, but I feel that I should offer some corrections. In terms of being true to the original games, Fallout 3 is the "offshoot" and New Vegas the proper...

Connecticut Ponders Two More Videogame Laws

While more research is never a bad thing in and of itself, this particular call for research is almost certainly driven by a particular agenda rather than an open-minded search for truth.

    MLP meets Lovecraft

What the hell...? Why would anyone even make that? Haven't been around the Escapist much lately, so I imagine that I've missed quite a number of opportunities to post a link to the Escapist MLP user group: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/MLP-Friendship-is-Magic I recommend...

Bronies out there. why do you like MLP

Mostly because it's a bright spot of innocence in a sea of grimdark, but that wouldn't count for much if it weren't actually good. FiM has a diverse cast with personalities that I can identify with; each character has their own strengths and weaknesses. The writing is not particularly complex...

Poll: Adventure Time! vs. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

I can only assume that people must be Googling variations on the phrase "Adventure Time versus MLP", and then making an account specifically to respond. Unless you can think of another explanation. May as well add a user group link...

    Possible Firefly Reboot

To me, the word "reboot" implies that they would change the canon a bit, so the movie may be a non-issue.

Poll: Poll: Are you Male or Female

I'm just plain male, but I feel obligated to suggest that you add a transgender option to the poll in place of that silly joke answer.

So I've been playing Spec Ops: The Line

And as a consumer, I would not pay more than $30. I'm not claiming to be some authoritative Price Master here.

So I've been playing Spec Ops: The Line

There's multiplayer, yes, but all of the reviews I've read say it's pretty lackluster. Which is only to be expected, since the actual game mechanics are so generic. The game probably isn't worth full price simply due to the length, but if you can find it for $25-$30 I'd heartily recommend it.

Zero Punctuation: Spec Ops: The Line

Yeah, the little touches like that really made the experience. My favorite part was the way the squad's combat banter descended into semi-coherent cursing toward the end.

    I have discovered Civilization!

Morrowind I went into it with some trepidation as I had previously played Oblivion and didn't like it. The next week is a bit of a blur. I remember how shocked I was to realize, about 20 hours (yes, hours) into the game, that it didn't have full voice acting. I seriously hadn't noticed. I...

Spec Ops: The Line. A Shooter Propelde By Story Rather Than Gameplay?

I think the fact that the characters appear so generic on the surface might actually be an intentional deconstruction of the shooter clichés. Like the devs wanted to show what would happen to these types of people in the real world. They march in expecting to be the Big Damn Heroes and fix...

Spec Ops: The Line. A Shooter Propelde By Story Rather Than Gameplay?

It's 50% off on Amazon right now, and you can activate it on Steam. Considering that the game makes a number of very obvious references to Heart of Darkness (a character named "John Konrad"), that's a natural comparison. I just finished the game, and I'd say that the $25 I paid for it was a...
