Don't worry, melee sucks too. There is no impact in your attacks and your hits just go trough enemies. It's very "airy". And bow and arrow? I had to shoot 6 arrows to this guy's head before he died. And he was a mage!

Metal Gear Rising was awesome. Loved that game. Game of the year for me. This year was pretty bad when you consider mainstream gaming.
