A bullet to chest will make you flinch and probably unable to retaliate instantly. Bullets tend to be painful.

In my opinion Royal is not that good a choice if you want melee. It just takes practice and patience. Look up the secrets in some levels and dont rush in. Soldier,Knight, or Temple Knight for melee. Royal for Magic. Once you've got the hang of it you can start again as a more advanced charater...

I was an Argonian. First thing I did was take a swim and enter the ruins right across the water. My 1st guild was Dark Brotherhood. What made the game interesting for me was how many different ways I could reload then kill my adoring fan from the arena.

All collectibles in AC2 xD a month since i started and finished not ingame time.
