There's a JRPG being put together on Kickstarter about colonial America. Check it out:

You have a lot of faith in four guys with no budget who only have one major project in their history (and it's not a space sim), one of whom claims that procedural generation will provide all the content in their game.
Say what you will about Star Citizen - at least it's concrete. You can go...
There are about 464K people backing SC. I don't know how that compares to the sizes of other gaming populations, but to me that sounds like a lot.
I am one of those backers, and believe it or not I got into this because I anticipate them eventually releasing a really good SINGLE-PLAYER game...
It's the "Sitting" part that would get me, I think. When I'm alone with my thoughts, I like to walk around. It would also matter a lot if I were required to remain silent during the period. If not, I could pass the time singing, or monologuing aloud. As another fallback, I could try to take a...
Why make a public statement about this? I don't recall anyone accusing Cloud Imperium of being on the verge of selling out. So far, they've been astoundingly successful as a crowdsourced company, one which I suspect could be of great interest to business and economics students in the years to come.
Some things I noticed in this pre-alpha game:
1. There are security cameras what can notice you, but you can shoot them.
2. Unlike in Syndicate, your crew of agents is not in danger of being TPKed if you cross the street without looking - cars will now stop for people in the road. (Addendum -...
The whole of the game is supposed to take place on the same night. People probably would raise a hue and cry about Bruce Wayne, Jack Ryder, and Vicki Vale getting trapped in Arkham City, but as long as they don't do anything about it before dawn, it doesn't matter. The basic plan of "get...
+1 to "Approval for learning game mechanics by practice and intuition rather than by explanation".
Also,
+1 to "Concern that The Witness will consist entirely of sliding dot puzzles."
Oh, I see. Yeah, that's a little annoying, but I don't think the presence of a selective backer bonus is reason enough by itself to not support the game, or the publisher. That said, I'm only backing at $15 for a copy of the game, so I wouldn't get this exclusive class anyway.
My general...
I take it you're referring to the "Lord" backer reward? As I read it, the guy who chips in $5000 gets to HELP to design a class that EVERYONE will then be able to access. That doesn't seem really exclusive to me.
Why? As a business practice, what's wrong with that?
I can see why you might be upset if this was some kind of competitive multiplayer game, and backers got some kind of in-game reward that gave them a substantial advantage over other players. However, Darkest Dungeon isn't multiplayer, and...
Am I the only one concerned that Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, and Facebook (all corporate entities, made for the purpose of generating profit) collect this information which the NSA (a government entity, made for the purpose of ensuring public safety and/or the continuance of federal governance)...
