Used to stick with Crono Frog and Magus, because, well, each character is awesome enough. Though I've found that Crono or magus, with Ayla and frog... is quite a resilient team. Ayla and frog pretty much heal the entire team for a decent amount if needed, and both can hit for decent damage...
