    Should organ donation be manditory?

I'm sure there are good doctors who heartily believe their first priority is to save the living, and only use organ donation as a potential 'plan B' to try and salvage *something* out of a death. However, I can't stop thinking that, put in the doctor's position, I'd be tempted to let one person...

    Should organ donation be manditory?

I don't believe it should be opt-out. And I'm not an organ donor, either. I can't donate my organs, as I can't donate my blood, but I'd probably opt-out regardless. My reasons are probably ill-founded, but I'd have a real fear of doctors losing interest in keeping me alive should they find...

    Do you like women's feet?

I like *men's* feet, does that count? Then again, I like pretty much any part of a guy's body. Feet have to be clean, though. Not sweaty.

GAMES YOU HATE. Say something nice about them!

Final Fantasy XII That Vaan is one hot chick.

Little things in Games that you appreciate

To reiterate: - Unskippable cutscenes make replaying games a chore - Customizable controls are a godsend to southpaws (like me) And to add: - Invincible AI escorts (there's nothing worse than seeing a Game Over because an ally ran gleefully into the crossfire. I'm looking at you...

    Reasons to be cheerful

Reading The Escapist's recent pieces on genre, and how it is A Good Thing, I remembered an 'essay' I wrote a couple of years back, defending several much-maligned aspects of today's game industry. Genre was one of these. Seeing as some of these ideas have really resonated with The Escapist's...

the used games arguement is flawed

Used games 'steal' dev profits in exactly the same why I 'steal' from Whirlpool by not willfully destroying my washing machine. The whole thing is absurd. That my choice somehow reduces their profitability, despite not breaking contracts, does not make me a 'thief'.

Good games with NO replay value

Indeed. It's far too chokingly linear to be replayable. On the flip side, however, the well-designed and carefully polished scripted events do make it a marvellous experience on the first play. Much the same can be said of the original HL, for that matter.

Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth. A comprehensive rebalance for both PC and PSOne versions

Shameless self-promotion, but I think you'll be interested: Final Fantasy 7. The perfect game? Proving popular with countless generations of gamers, despite its age, inspiring fanart, fiction, a series of spinoff games and even a full-budget movie, it's tempting to fit Final Fantasy VII...

So, what do you want in the PS4/Xbox 1080?

I expect the next generation of consoles to be quite conservative. The Wii's early inroads fizzled away somewhat, and public response to motion control has been lukewarm so far. I expect a further polishing of graphics, the reuse of content (as improved resolution and graphics quality makes it...

    Game Industry People Lean Liberal

This is likely more to do with demographics and poverty in the bible belt than anything else. Working class children just don't tend to become software engineers, and I'd tend to suggest that the North of the US if more affluent than the South.

    Poisons & Disciplines

Pickled onions. Once I crack a jar open, I just can't stop until I'm left driving through the fluids, fruitlessly pursuing that forlorn, lonely bit of onion skin at the end.

Why do "realistic" games all feel the need to include the Desert Eagle as a weapon?

It's instantly recognizable as the classic 'slow but potent' arm option. Armories need to appear realistic (and so resemble real-world weapons the player is familiar with) but play with the practicalities of weapons (weight, recoil etc.) to make armory choices more intuitive, and so the game...

    Zero Punctuation: E3 2010

I too had technical issues with the vid. Namely closing it. I'm using Chrome in Debian, though, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was an issue with software on *my* end.

    Zero Punctuation: E3 2010

If I want to 'explore new things', there are links, adverts, and all kinds of goodness already advertising them. As I pay for my bandwidth, however, I appreciate being given a choice, and not misled. I do plenty of 'experimentation' of my own now and then, thankyouverymuch, and certainly don't...
