Vote Now for Film Fest's Viewer's Choice

For many of the entries, there's probably only one key element that needs polish, which doesn't really justify needing to collaborate. My real point is, there are a lot of videos which just fall short of what I'd imagine is the standard to join The Escapist video line-up. I attribute this to...

Vote Now for Film Fest's Viewer's Choice

How about a second chance competition? For example, those videos that are seen as having potential get a chance to create a second video for judging? I'm sure a concept like this would be beneficial to a lot of entrants. Or, The Escapist could have an internal "trial" procedure for potential...

The Escapist Film Festival 2010: Carmen 1.0

Vote Now for Film Fest's Viewer's Choice

Thanks for watching and for the feedback. Audio issues I've addressed in this thread and in the Unearthed thread [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/6.242451-The-Escapist-Film-Festival-2010-Unearthed]. Regarding tone, for the pilot episode I wanted to convey what the overall tone of the...

The Escapist Film Festival 2010: Unearthed

No arguments here. I've already stated this generically, but now specifically relating to my entry:

Vote Now for Film Fest's Viewer's Choice

It's a good theory, but I'm not immediately convinced that they watched every video. Perhaps there is room for adjustment if certain videos get a high audience reaction. I agree, but that said, I'd imagine audio is one of the easier things to fix for future videos, and something that could be...

The 4th Annual The Escapist Film Festival Is Now Live

The way I see it, you can either a) write the plot each week based on the communal decision, or b) plan out the entire decision tree in advance. Option a) essentially is high risk/high pay-off, leaving option b) more likely to be less risk/less pay-off.

The 4th Annual The Escapist Film Festival Is Now Live

Regarding the rule "Content must be original to the contest." Does this allow for promoting the entry prior to its inclusion in the Film Festival? For example, creating a Facebook page for a web series, with its title, logo, and promotional images/video - essentially everything but the entry...

So reading through the Terms & Conditions, I assume that entrants retain Intellectual Property rights this time around as opposed to last year?

The Escapist Presents: Third Annual The Escapist Film Festival - updated 12/11/09

I seem to recall that last year's comp had a statement saying that the creator of the video would retain full rights to their work if it did not win. Does this still apply? Having said that, as the winner, giving up full copyright is a major sacrifice, as it pretty much rules out having any...

    The Escapist Film Festival: Solentstrike

Now let's see.. - Modified Counter-Strike weapons that have a green muzzle flash - Realistic Counter-Strike weapon aiming (i.e. you can aim in between two people and hit them both) - Big explosion at the end Yep. This should have easily won.

The Escapist Film Festival: Tribute to Yahtzee Croshaw

Tell me, how can you possibly have a Yahtzee tribute without a single clip of his voice?
