    Skyrim and Games For Windows

Fantastic. This is everything I hoped for. I don't have a problem with Steam - the only reason I'm not buying it from them is because I can get it slightly cheaper from Amazon. This has been very reassuring.

Well that helps. I love being wrong in these situations.

    Skyrim and Games For Windows

So there I was, about to order my PC copy of Skyrim, when I noticed that there was a Games for Windows logo emblazoned across the top of the box. Now, while there are many reasons why GfW and GfWL have been terrible crimes against humanity, I don't have a particular problem with the service...

Humble Indie Bundle 3: Now With Humble Indie Bundle 2!

I found it by clicking the link in the first email they sent. It's kind of bad design, but I guess there's not a lot of ways to authenticate purchasers when they're not requiring people to make individual accounts with them. Even so, it certainly could've been clearer.

Poll:So the new spider man is half black, half hispanic ,what do you think escapist.

Not that radical. It's the Ultimate universe. This is what people are misunderstanding. Superheroes die in the Ultimate universe all the damn time. This isn't regular Spiderman canon. Hell, they already killed Peter Parker for a while in regular Spiderman canon. It's completely commonplace.

Oh, OK, so you did mean the ridiculous strawman version of political correctness. I appreciate that we were able to clear this so easily. Thanks! This was nice.

Poll:So the new spider man is half black, half hispanic ,what do you think escapist.

It's just really funny. You know a culture's messed up when one group is so completely used to being pandered to, that any attempts to pander to someone else for a change elicits this many complaints of being cheap and money-grabbing. As opposed to every single other decision Marvel ever makes...

Something found at the botton of the Baltic Sea. Nobody has fucking clue what it is.

It reminds me of Kris Straub's Starslip [http://starslip.com/2005/05/23/starslip-number-1/], a comedy sci-fi webcomic, but I couldn't tell you if that's actually the reference, or even if it's based on something more real.

The Unbearable Lightness of Licking Lampposts

I was actually wondering if I hadn't gone deeply enough into why heteronormativity is so difficult to shake, so I suppose I thank you for putting it so starkly. Like most forms of privilege [http://blog.shrub.com/archives/tekanji/2006-03-08_146] (of which heterosexual privilege...

The Unbearable Lightness of Licking Lampposts

There's a serious problem here, and it's certainly not you. Actually, there are two problems; the most easily-understood is stereotyping, the image people have of the effeminate gay man. While there are certainly gay men who are effeminate, it's for much the same reason that there are gay men...

Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 Review

They didn't fix that for the sequel? Christ, that's something that should've been patched in the first game years ago. I mean, it's not something that necessarily comes up often, but there's seriously no reason not to give that choice to the player. I didn't even bother with the three-colour...

    My friend is considering suicide

Hoo. OK. Being angry or sarcastic about it won't help anyone, so I'll just say it straight. Panicking and telling as many people "in a position of authority" as you can about your friend without her permission is not a good idea. I cannot emphasise enough how much I advise against doing this. To...

Are there any gamer geeks who actually are good-looking?

Right. I had assumed she was just saying "well they don't count" out of obstinance. I was wrong. I apologise.

Are there any gamer geeks who actually are good-looking?

Edit: Oh. This was written before you posted that she's actually changed her mind somewhat. This means I was wrong. Sorry to be so harsh.

    Hair of the Dog

Why? It's not a particularly interesting film. There's not a whole lot worth saying about it, and it's certainly not worth devoting an entire column listing specific examples of why the film isn't good, when he's already spent a video talking about it in broader terms. Conversely, the treatment...
