Yeah, definitely Heavy Rain - that was horrible.
Another shout out to Condemned 'cos that game had some twisted first-person melee violence.
And as final example Red Dead Redemption - walking outside at the end.... *sobs*
I always like to read a wide mix of reviews - particularly when deciding on a purchase.
I have been writing reviews for games, CDs and films for a little while - anyone got any tips for someone trying to write for an eclectic bunch of media?
Reviews here - comments are really welcome as...
Oh - and as a second question - will anyone want to play games through goggles?
Would that be a medium of gaming that people want to use, or would it be annoying/dangerous?
There have been a lot of rumours floating around about the new Valve-developed games console - dubbed the Steam Box. If you haven't read about it yet - check it out here http://eclectic-review.blogspot.com/2012/04/rumour-steam-box-150412-daily-dose.html
My question is - what do you think the...
Totally agree with your defence of Resi 2 and 3 here.
Resi 1 was kinda quaint but it did suspense and was one of the original "survival horror" games - so credit to it there.
Resi 2 and 3 built upon that and had great stories, settings and a whole bunch of stuff to do so they stand out...
A new trailer for Resident Evil 6 has been released (if you haven't seen it yet, you can watch both trailers here - http://eclectic-review.blogspot.com/2012/04/trailer-resident-evil-6-captivate.html)
My question is - does this trailer make you more, or less, interested in the upcoming Resi...
You just need to delete some info/game installs to free up some space.
The 37GB part is that you have a 40 gig hard drive, and 3GB of that is taken up with the Playstation operating system (the XMB) and any updates that have been installed.
A 40 gig hard drive will never actually give you...
My old 40GB PS3 is doing the same - and always on the same games. During Red Faction: Armageddon it constantly started whirring REALLY loudly - so much that I had to turn the volume up on my speakers!
Worried it's about to die too - will be really sad when trusty old steed needs to be put out...
Yeah, quite a lot needs to change really.
They need to stop "honouring" previous Zelda titles and think outside of the box. Move away from the 2-hour intro - 2 hour learn the basics - 2 hours in the Forest Temple etc. formula.
Link to the Past was where it was at - you got story, game...
Great thread - video games seem to be stuck in the 1980s when it comes to their characters and storylines.
Big white blokes with giant weapons save a bunch of small useless women who (if they're really lucky) might be able to use a bow and arrow or some magic.
Worse that that is when they...
A few days ago, Youtube user Steelehouse Digital (http://www.youtube.com/user/SteelehouseDigital) uploaded this awesome fan film version of what PAC-MAN The Movie could look like. If you haven't seen it yet, check it out here -...
Yeah, if the game offers enough customisation to allow you to feel a connection with that character then yes it definitely counts.
Shepard is a close one for me - I'm not as evil in real life as I usually play in Mass Effect - and I usually play as Fem Shep just because you can!
A very good evening to everyone!
I was just wondering - rather than the BEST character, or the COOLEST, or the TOUGHEST - those are all boring questions - which video game character do you feel most SIMILAR TO?
That could be because of how they react to situations, how they look, how they...
Terra Incognito! That was actually pretty good - except for camera angles and controls - but it really was a user-built 3D platformer that kept me going for a few hours. I remember thinking that was quite epic at the time!
And yes - it was the demo disc with MGS1 - I had just bought Metal...
Oh. My. God. I had totally forgotten about Net Yaroze!
Absolutely loved those games - I remember that Official Playstation magazine disc that came with like 20 free titles to try! Think there was a future/sci-fi shooter that I spent quite a while playing through on that disc - as well as...
