What happened to the Portal 2 DLC?

Black Mesa's going to take longer than Duke Nukem Forever at this rate. I expect it to be released about a year after Episode Four.

    Poll: Male reproductive rights

You have a right to do with your body as you please. You do not have a right to tell ME what to do with MY body. So, if you don't want kids, don't do the naked pretzel. It's not that hard.

God damn, Escapist. I fucked up. I fucked up real bad.

This is the kind of thing you;d get the birch for if I did it at your age, which is a lot more recent than a lot of people seem to think (do I look old? bah). (For those that don't understand the scottish/british turn of phrase, 'getting the birch' refers to corporal punishment, the name...

Obama: "Turn off the video games and pick up a book."

Just as there are mindless pointless whiz-bangy shooty games, there are mindless pointless books that have the entertainment and intellectual value of complete tripe on a bike. Inversely, just as there are literary triumphs of books that are excellent reading material, so too are there triumphs...

EA Origin Keeps your games after one year, possibly

Most people never read the legaleese in these sites etc, that's why.

Minecraft, EVE Online, The Escapist, League of Legends Hacked by Lulzsec

Why would they lock the threads? I rather ask: Why bother giving these hackers more publicity by banging on about their childish antics? Yes, Im aware of the hypocriscy in posting just to say that.

So I found out I'm on my schools "Shooting Watch List"

Isn't religion one of the things for which one cannot be discriminated against in the States? I know it is in Canada.

Poll: New forum rules - Yay or Nay?

I've never had a problem with the rules. Yes, I've been actioned once, and frankly, I can see what was offensive about what I posted. What I don't agree with is the fact that I'm on perma-probation forever for literally one post I made ... what like half a year at least ago? I think closer...

    my gf is a pothead

A convicted felon who shows up even around pot is very likely to end up thrown in for possession charges, if not distribution. Now I'm not saying that's why in the OP's case, but that's kind of my hunch. Regardless though, as has been stated earlier in the thread, and I agree, she has to...

    'Slut' Parade

I can post links with excerpts of unverified sources too, its a common practice in politically and/or emotionally charged debates, the fact remains that unless you have a substantive body of evidence which proves which something taken as red is not true, then I'm still going to dismiss your...

    'Slut' Parade

Except that until you can provide something more than ancedotal evidence, you're really just kind of speaking your opinion here. Which is fine, if you don't try to pass it off as fact. Which you are.

    'Slut' Parade

I agree, I honestly do. But if there are steps a person can take to protect themselves, and they choose not to take them, there's a lesson in that too. It's like knowing you're going in a live fire area and refusing to wear kevlar body armour: its not your fault if someone else shoots you...

    'Slut' Parade

Speaking as a woman: Simple fact of the matter is that if you dress in provocative and "slutty" ways, you encourage people to act in lewd and untoward matter towards you. Does it excuse rape? No, it doesn't. But on the other hand, you don't do yourself any favours by encouraging these kinds...

"A Gay Girl in Damascus: My Father, the hero"

I just wanted to applaud you for the bolded statement. So many people seem to treat freedom of speech as a carte blance to act as misanthropes without criticism or consequence, and that is not how the world works. This story - if true - is the kind of thing that renews faith in humanity...

    Are the forums too strict?

This is probably the closest to the problem. Mods are people just like us, and they will react emotionally to a post. If your form elicits a negative emotional response, then yeah, they're going to be predisposed to take action against it. What gets that kind of response, varies from mod to mod.
