They fired the Escapist's editor, and the video team, Yahtzee resigns

Damn, didn't expect that. I mean, the last time I spent any real time here was 7-ish years ago (and man, does time fly), but watching the videos here and reading on the forums was a big part of my day back then. So it's super weird to see the site go down like this.

Legacy Users - Get Your Badge Here

I can't get the wayback machine to cooperate, but the "normal" profile https://forums.escapistmagazine.com/members/carrington666.61776/ has the correct join date and links to my 2014-2016 posts, is that enough?

When a villains snaps. (your favorite Villainous Breakdown) SPOILERS

I just love Loki's breakdown in the first Avengers movie. The combination of his breakdown, Hulk's reaction and Loki's final line after he calmed down (woke up) again, makes the whole thing incredible awesome :-) Begins at 0:50

Steam Machine Pricing Revealed - From $459 to $4,999

Yep, $849 gets you nothing from that list. I just spent some time on their website and customized a machine with those specks. When given the choice between two or more options, I choose the cheaper variant. No OS, no other Software, no controller. Prize as customized: $4,554.00 for the GTX...

Yes, Women in Dragon Age Could Use Longswords

I can't say anything about the strength requirements for using a bow, but actual historical bow techniques seems to be way weirder than what we see in movies and games. I've watched this video twice now and still think he is using magic ;-)

Dragon Age Origins...Bug in acquiring specialization while leveling up?

No, it doesn't matter which quest you do first. To save Irving and the circle you have to read that book you find on Niall's corpse (the Litany of Adralla) everytime Uldred tries to use his bloodmagic on the captured mages. As long as you prevent him from turning Irving into an abomination you...

You don't have to be afraid of taking a public stance against #GamerGate.

To be honest, I believe we are talking about different things. Harrassment happens against both sides and it is great that you condem it when it happens and I'd like the media to report on harrassment when it happens to people on the GG side. But this is not the behavior I mean, when I talk...

Ok, I'll try to make it clearer. Yes, those articles were harmfull and people who dismiss the movement because of the actions of a few trolls act unfairly. I am not denying this. However, certain behaviors of pro-GamerGaters also damage its reputations. By simply ignoring this criticisms and...

You don't have to be afraid of taking a public stance against #GamerGate.

Well, yes and there seems to be a tendency to deliberately misinterpret something so it can fit your argument. And when you see it happening to yourself, you will automatically be suspiscious about their other statements. And since statements without proof are worthless, I'll quote out...

[Dragon Age: Origins] A Roguish Type's Best Friends

God, Mana Clash is amazing. A lot of people focus on one-shotting a high-level mage boss with it, and to be fair that is very cool, but killing an entire room of low-level mages in one shot never got old ;-) OP: I know I'm not particular helpful, but I'd suggest to swap the companions around...

You don't have to be afraid of taking a public stance against #GamerGate.

No, because, as I have just written, there are many instances which make it clear, that his opion is just his, since there are articles that contradict him. The same with MovieBob, there are other people on this site that create content which may or may not contradict him. If ZP was the only...

You don't have to be afraid of taking a public stance against #GamerGate.

Often, there are other articles about the games ZP critiques. They could be reviews, comics, opinon pieces etc and sometimes they share their opinions, sometimes they contradict each other. So it should be clear, that ZP is not the unified foice of the Escapist when it comes to games. If Zero...

You don't have to be afraid of taking a public stance against #GamerGate.

The only thing I argue for is that if one site publishes excactly one article/video etc. about a topic, than this article/video can be seen as the opinion of that site. If a site publishes multiple articles/videos about a topic that share the same tenor, but non with a contrary viewpoint, than...

You don't have to be afraid of taking a public stance against #GamerGate.

Maybe nobody claims that ZP is not the product of an Escapist "think tank" because the Escapist is not a "think tank"? AEI on the other hand is, to quote Wikipedia, "a private, conservative, not-for-profit organisation (a "think tank")" Since she is working for this conservative "think tank"...
