Can't say for certain, but Spectator always seemed to have massive potential for abuse. 8v8 match, one team TKs one guy at round start, after which said guy can relay EVERYTHING to his mates via out-of-game comms. Maybe that has something to do with it? Just a guess.

Am I the only one who can't shake the feeling that using this will cut frame rates in half, or worse? I mean, it'd basically be like running a second screen, meaning you have to render everything for that. Given the higher FoV, it could even take up more power than the main screen does.

Not that I wanna be an asshat about it, but while Steam will default to downloading it after you add the Key to your account, you can just stop the download and install from the disk. Doesn't really seem fair for you to "hate" Steam, if that's a main reason.
