"Bad" games you thought were good

SimTower. OK, so I didn't think it was good, but I did thoroughly enjoy it, and still install it from time to time.

    Poll: Favorite Game Publisher

So you start by saying that EA is rubbish, and end by confusing "Developer" with "publisher", calling out BioWare as one of your favorites... You do know they're published by EA, right? I don't mean to be rude or anything, but when you portray yourself as highly knowledgeable, even saying you...

    Are you into photography?

Thanks InProgress! I've always liked that one as well. I had no idea there were at least a few of us photographers here (My other main forum is one on photography...and very few of them play games!), but it's nice to be in good company.

    Are you into photography?

I've been very into photography for a while now, shooting mainly with my Nikon D70 due to the convenience of digital, and complete lack of professional quality film developing/printing in my area. I also shoot with a Nikon N2020 (F501 for the European market) and a Nikon FE2 (currently broken)...

What was your first REAL violent game?

Well, Mortal Kombat was almost certainly the first one I played, though I think the first I owned was probably Carmageddon. Good times.

Is Windows 7 worth the wait?

Wow... Vista had a bad launch due to driver and software incompatabilities, necessary to rebuild aging archetecture of the OS. Within a few months, and especially by SP1, Vista certainly surpassed XP. Maybe not in brute speed, but in usability, due to a number of interface improvements...

    Poll: The Equilibrium Dilema

Is it a Matrix, 1984, and Brave New World rip-off? Yes, but don't forget the Fahrenheit-451 "fireman" aspects. Does that make it a bad movie? No. It's a very good movie right up until the very end, which just doesn't fit with the cerebral nature of the dystopian plot. They turned...

Famous last words on a game

"Wisely done, Mr. Freeman. I will see you up ahead."

Anyone Still Playing Roller Coaster Tycoon? (PC)

I know exactly what it lost. Chris Sawyer. RCT1 is one of my absolute favorites, and 2 was just better in every way. Then there was "Oh, sorry, no building underground, and no 'park admission' with massive advertising" RCT3

Poll: Fallout 3 or Elder Scrolls IV

Well...when Morrowind came out, I had never played an RPG (I'm not exactly new to gaming...18 years of it and counting), but no RPG really ever caught my eye before (Unless you count the Diablo series...which I don't). Morrowind looked great to me, so I *cough* pirated it *cough*. I liked it...

Most expensive game wasn't worth it

This is a yes and no for me... I've always loved the music games, and thought GHIII was one of the best of them, so when it came to the new ones, I chose GH:WT over Rock Band 2. It would have been fine, but I bought it on the Wii, and the lyrics font they used is just too small to read on an...

Kim Jong Il - What's your Opinion on him?

I think this really says it all... South Korea is lit up like a stadium, North Korea is nearly completely dark. That one man can halt the development of an entire country so completely for so long is insane.

    Spelling/Grammar

Well, I realize I'm a bit late to the party, but I am a grammar Nazi of sorts. I'm not the kind who will stalk threads and correct everyone's grammar, but if I see a post that is riddled with incorrect spelling, punctuation, and homonyms , I won't give it the time of day. Once people reach a...

book you had to read for school and actually enjoyed/found interesting.

My list of books I enjoyed in school was much longer than the ones I didn't enjoy. Some particular stand outs were: 1984 Catch-22 (My favorite book ever) Poisonwood Bible A Tale of Two Cities Fahrenheit 451 Dandelion Wine NeutralDrow: I forgot about Bless Me, Ultima. It was great!

    Out of Print

Yeah, but where are you going to get drivers? I just checked nVIDIA's site, and the earliest OS they support is XP. Same goes for most modern mainboards, sound cards, etc... Compatibility mode usually works
