Ooooookay. Why is the term "Mary Sue" being thrown around like paint?

My thoughts on your thoughts on that matter.

    I liked Star Wars:TFA but....characterization

I think that while she is hyper competent for the most part it is explainable by her upbringing on Jakku. She learned to speak a variety of languages due to the mixed nature of the scavengers. Her fighting ability is self explanatory due to the rough nature of the locals. She learned how to...

    Ceramic Fanatic

While I definitely think the dialogue wheel is far too simplified compared to the previous games, I will give it props for being one of the more accurate dialogue wheels I have seen. Too many games that use them take your intended nice/mean/snark/ext. response and turn it up to 11. You tend to...

    A Writer's Destiny

In my opinion, yes. A couple of nice cutscenes, more exposition, and a lot more banter back and forth between the supporting NPCs during the missions. The fact that it focuses on a single enemy faction makes things flow a bit better as well.

Bungie Talks Destiny: The Taken King Details

Personally I like the base game. I recognize that it isn't for everyone and it was waaaay overhyped but I thoroughly enjoyed it. DLC 1 was weak but still an enjoyable addition while DLC 2 was awesome and showed that Bungie listened to all the complaints people had about DLC 1. In short I don't...

Roll For Sass! Check Out These Out-Of-Context D&D Quotes

Ah D&D, I still remember my first campaign, bunch of other new players. Best out of context line of that campaign: Rogue (To DM): How many bodies have we thrown in the well?

    "Good" vs "Bad" Difficulty

What I loved most about the Advance Wars games balance is that while the AI may have an advantage over you it is never anything outside of the rules that the player is bound by. They don't get bonus funds, they can't see in fog of war, and they don't simply do more damage than you...

Zero Punctuation: Elite: Dangerous - Space Truckin'

I request we get a small series of "Space Commander Yahtzee the nth" chronicling his adventures and ultimate demises.

World Health Organization: Latest Ebola Outbreak Moving Too Fast to Control

In the 1st world, not very. Modern medical facilities will boost survival ratings, the virus can't survive past 30 minutes in sunlight, and it spreads via fluids only which makes it fairly easy to isolate and quarantine especially if the public takes the proper precautions. The first world...

Escape to the Movies: Godzilla - Breaking Kaiju

Definitely got the feeling that there was a lot of executive meddling behind the scenes. Both in the amount of "Army hero must save the day" and in the release schedule. The amount of times it refuses to actually show Godzilla after the build up just screams that they had the scenes planned and...

Toys you had as a kid... then destroyed, sold or "lost" by your parents. DAMN YOU MOM AND DAD!!

My parents actually insisted I keep a lot of toys I thought of throwing out. I have roughly 50+ Lego sets from the early 1990's a bin full of K'nex, a few transformers here and there, and about 40 board games. Only thing they gave away without asking is the SNES and the 5 games we had for it...

    Arrogance

My former roommate was arrogant.... about the fact he was arrogant... about everything. His only saving grace was that every single idea he had failed spectacularly which made his arrogant attitude almost endearing in a weird way.

Pet killer in Calgary - $20,000 bounty

Not quite, Sadism seems to be the flip side of the coin to higher intelligence. Transient orcas have been known to kill and not eat porpoises despite the two species not sharing a food supply, they also suffocate sharks to death and eat their livers, only the livers though. Dolphins will...

Poll: Best new anime of 2013

I wouldn't write Attack on Titan completely off. It is well worth a shot and honestly I don't agree with VanQ on the points of art, animation, and story. While some anime are hands down better at all three it is no reason to slam the show.

Poll: Best new anime of 2013

While I almost put Kill La Kill as my vote I chose Attack On Titan. While both are well paced, fleshed out, and round out my previous top 3 (Gurren Lagann, Euraka Seven, and Soul Eater) to a top 5, Attack On Titan is a show that I can watch my friends who are only slightly in to anime while...
