I need games for my 3DS. Tell me about Devil Survivor.

I really enjoyed Overclocked. It was my first introduction to the series and a cracking title. Easily cleared over a hundred hours on it (partly because I'm pretty rubbish at it!). Persona Q was also really good - never got into SMT IV as much though. If you're looking for something similar...

    2.5d platformers with sprites

Lomax in Lemmingland was great on PS1. Worth tracking down if you can due to the amazing pixel art. I think the guy responsible went on to work on some of Wayforward's Shantae games. Super Paper Mario on Wii sort of uses flat characters on 3D planes.

Undertale is one of the best games I have ever played.

This wasn't even on my radar until now, thanks for the recommendation!

    Super Mario Maker: Share Thread.

Appreciate the feedback. The Coral Capers DX level is small as a consequence of trying to squeeze a very vertical DKC level into the limited Mario Maker canvas. Once I've unlocked warp pipes I can match the scale and offer much more room. The Gauntlet level is supposed to have tight spaces and...

    Super Mario Maker: Share Thread.

A couple I completed last night. First Base - E667-0000-0037-F4BF My attempt at a 1-1 type level. Short, with a few challenging bits. Coral Capers Dx - 206A-0000-0043-2F42 Based on the DKC level, this was tough to fit onto one map because of the lack of vertical space. I had to add an...

    Super Mario Maker: Share Thread.

First attempt at a level, currently a very basic cave level, with an extra challenge of finding all 100 coins. It'll get more elaborate once I unlock some more tools, and I've been sat at work all day thinking of ways to improve it, but would appreciate feedback. Dollars in the Dark...

Your Opinion: Which games have made you not to trust Nintendo anymore?

None. I still trust them to do what they've always done, to excite and frustrate in equal measure. They do their own thing, some of it I love, some of it I don't enjoy. But I know that every game I love, there will be people that hate it; and every game I hate there will be some people that...

    Amiibos

Just wait till they bring out a Pokemon or Animal Crossing title that uses Amiibo, then you'll see them really bring in the money. If they made Pokemon TCG with Amiibo functionality they'll be swimming in cash. Maybe even enough to actually fund some sequels to those treasured franchises we've...

    Banjonauts 64 (3D Platformers)

I really miss the 3D platformers that emphasised exploration, the Mario 64s and Banko-Kazooie's of this world. BK N&B was a solid game in its own right but it should have been a side-project AFTER they'd made BK3. I actually interviewed a couple of the devs before the game came out and they were...

Anyone here getting/looking forward to Cities:Skylines?

I had absolutely no idea it even existed until I stumbled across the Kotaku review on my Twitter feed this morning (and I don't even follow Kotaku so I've no idea how it popped up), but I'm really interested in it. I haven't played a city builder since Sim City on the SNES so forgive me for...

Best, most noteworthy or otherwise interesting Skyrim moment?

I had a similar Space Program incident in my first few hours, on a quest where I had to guide some fella from Whiterun to one of the towns in the East. I was doing so well guarding him until a rogue giant came along, slammed his club into the ground and sent my charge in orbit. Laughed a good...

Will the Nintendo doomsaying ever end?

They aren't doomed, but they have seen a lot of their core audiences slip away over the past few years which will mean they'll be more prone to posting losses in the lean years. They've lost the licensing money they used to rake in from third-party titles, which would usually have cushioned...
