I still maintain that World in Conflict is the best RTS game ever made. Just saying.
I would hesitate to call the Total War series RTS. Much of the action takes place turn-based style - I've spent more time poring over the campaign map than I have commanding my troops in real-time.
This seems so fucking good, if only for the voice work. I would buy the game just to hear more of that guy narrating.
And the premise/setting is refreshing as well.
I disagree. It would be great to end this film with a kind of "Moriarty will return!" assurance, setting the stage for a tasty showdown in a third film.
The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series comes to mind. I got Clear Sky bundled with a graphics card purchase from Newegg. I was hooked instantly - first game I played on my first gaming rig.
Dragon Age: Origins
I don't even remember why I got this game - I believe a friend traded me his copy for my ArmA II. He persuaded me that although DA:O was a standard fantasy setting RPG (elves, dwarves, humans, warriors, rogues, mages), it was possibly the best of the breed.
I spent the...
Science fiction must be intelligent, or at least have a script that wasn't written by a high school drama club. Yeah, the action is glitzy (not pulse-pounding), but there should actually be some substance to the plot.
Scenes of dialogue don't really tax the budget, guys. Just a few would...
Fallout 3.
The moment I realized that I was playing a pitch-perfect game came in Vault 112, when I was zapped into Tranquility Lane. That transition from the ruin of the Wasteland into the eerie perfection of Braun's virtual playground took my breath away (not to mention carrying out the...
Incidentally, I hardly suppose we'd be listing Hitler as an evil dude if we were proud, Aryan gamers living in a Nazi state. Evil is perspective-based, and we'd do well to remember it.
Mao Zedong.
And why the hell did someone get banned for posting this guy? Mao was a sick fuck who engineered the death of millions in the name of creating a socialist paradise. That's pretty evil.
And he also had sex with lots of young girls in his old age, all in the name of producing a...
You know what's also naturally encoded in DNA? Genes that inspire alcoholism, kleptomania, and serial killings. Or so various scientists have at one point or another declared. This is why science is not to be trusted absolutely.
The problem is, the factors governing sexuality are fucking...
Ace Combat 5 was pitch-perfect on the sim-arcade-shooter mix. But this? This is dogfighting for pussies. Whatever happened to games like IL-2 Sturmovik and Combat Flight Simulator 2?
I say it's a warehouse with communication towers flanking.
Also, a ruined building to the left.
And the whole thing looks like it's near the Gap of Rohan during a thunderstorm.
Some of you have probably heard the song "It's the End of the World as We Know It" by REM.

I much prefer the cover done by the Canadian rock band Great Big Sea:
