Critical Miss: The Lord of the Zings

An amazing comic for an amazing game. Playing this for nearly four years now I still can't think of any other game to spend my rare time on. And there were some guys here who wondered that Turbine won the March Mayhem two times a row.

Activision Wants Black Ops Owners to Report Bugs, Please

This sounds like there's more than the usual bunch of bugs in it. Did they release before the testers said it's right?

Rolemaster, Puppetmaster, Catan Master: Pete Fenlon

Oh my god! This is like a trip to my youth. I had every Rolemaster book I could get a hold of, I had all the Shadowworld books, Spacemaster and Cyberspace (even if Cyberpunk 2020 was the better system), I had some thousand Middle Earth CCG cards and so on. And now he's publishing Settlers of...

    BioWare Begins a Mysterious Countdown

I will check my mail anyway at the end of countdown. The site will be unavailable for some hours anyway so I'll be looking for a beta key...

    Shamus Plays: LOTRO, Part 9

I really can't wait until Lulzy will be doing the cake delivery quests. But did Lulzy try and ask for dye in the chat channels? I guess someone will easily send a gift to such a nice young hobbit girl. I'd do immediately - if Lulzy were on Belegaer. BTW high end chars often have hundreds of...

    Shamus Plays: LOTRO, Part 4

This is getting more and more incredible. I already have the comparison of LotRO rings to swastikas in my official EU-LotRO forum sig. But I guess I'll have to exchange it for the "ran out of clothes" line. And I'm really looking forward to Lulzy meeting Sara Oakenheart.

    Shamus Plays: LOTRO, Part 3

Really great, Shamus. I love this humour. Being a LotROist since beta I'll be following you. Join the free trial. 2 weeks of time to decide.

Lord of the Rings Online (LotRO) - A Review

Did you read the quest texts? You may be right, LotRO is pretty toned down for an MMO. But Middle earth by itself is a world with virtually no magic of the WoW magician kind. But if you try to see the world as a whole world and not a collection of quest spots, LotRO is the best you can probably...

Champions Online Sells Out of Lifetime Subscriptions

I bought LotRO for 250 euros when it came out because it included the Lifetime sub and the box looked cool. But I knew what was coming from the Beta and I really liked it. Now I play for more than two years and will be for some more. So it's not always a dumb move, it can be very smart.

    Poll: Should I join WoW?

If these are your criteria, play Lord of the Rings Online. It really has a good story that runs through all your characters life, the graphics are great (even if animations are a bit better in WoW). All reviews I read were good overall too. And within the next years you will see Isengart, Helms...

WoW: Cataclysm Part 1: Old Villains, New Races

All in all there's nothing in it that could get me back from LotRO. No fascinating story, no incredible features, no good graphics (even if the trailer looks blasting as every Blizzard one). Now there's not even a new world. To me it sounds like "Hey, our best designers are on the new MMO, how...

Turbine Sues Atari Over DDO: Unlimited

In a recent interview a Turbine exec said that they would try to get back international distribution rights for some of their games. Now they have a lawsuit with Atari who is publishing LotRO in Australia by the way. Even if this is about DDO I think there is more to this than just a license...

Review Wars - NewClassic's "Tome of the Ancients" Retro Comp.

Unbelievable, the scores are finally in. I don't feel bad about being last place even if I liked my review. But it reminds me that it's always good to go over texts in foreign language twice. Thanks to all the judges for their feedback.

    Diablo 3 without LAN mode?

In a statement that was deleted in the meanwhile, two Blizzard employees talked about the reason to eliminate LAN mode from D3: Karune: "[...] 1) Pirated servers splinter the community instead of consolidating all players who love to play the game. Battle.net will bring players together...

Funny, short and simple ? but where is the money? (A review of mybrute.com)

Funny, short and simple ? but where is the money? This is the review of MyBrute.com, a browser game where you create a fighter and fight through different tournaments. Browser games were often very similar. You needed to log in as often as possible to be competitive and often you had to...
