Oh hey, MovieBob got fired (Or let go)

This seems like something that should be announced somewhere on the actual site, no? Maybe I just missed it, but it seems like something you'd want to tell your paying subscribers about just in case they care...

Breaking: Microsoft purchasing Zenimax for $7.5 billion.

That's what I was getting at. Microsoft paid almost double, so it's going to be interesting to see what their game plan is. I've put a ton of hours into Bethesda games, but never thought of them as being "Star Wars" level money makers. I guess we'll find out.

Breaking: Microsoft purchasing Zenimax for $7.5 billion.

This is wild. Hard to believe it was kept quiet until the deal was done. And to think that Disney "only" paid 4 billion for Star Wars.

Digital Comic Books: would you read or collect them? Also Humblebundle comicbook offering

Comixology is giving away all of its Black Panther single issues for free right now, apparently as a celebration of Chadwick Bosman, so there are sometimes some perks to going digital, even though it will never be the same as paper.

Digital Comic Books: would you read or collect them? Also Humblebundle comicbook offering

Oh, I also think the device you're reading on makes a huge difference. I read on a 10 inch Galaxy Tab A now, which is just about perfect. I started reading with a laptop and it wasn't anywhere near as immersive, and reading on a phone is a non-starter for me.

Digital Comic Books: would you read or collect them? Also Humblebundle comicbook offering

I got into digital comics in a big way a few years ago when Amazon/Comixology was trying to undercut Marvel and offering most of their trades for a dollar a piece. I've stuck with it because I just don't have any more room for floppies and trades of stories unless I really care about them. I...

How much do you spend on games every month?

I can't remember the last time I paid full price for a game, but I do spend a fair bit in sales, especially now with the plague. Anywhere from 60-100 Canadian dollars a month I guess, depending on what's available. I've definitely been considering some kind of stricter budget though since I...

    Zack Snyder’s Justice League

Will the next viral Snyder tweet say that whoever didn't like it are jealous 'cause they can't lift? Seriously though, this trailer felt like turgid, lifeless, trash, and I really wish he'd stop abusing Leonard Cohen like that. I hate to be so negative, but I sat through Justice League, BvS...

    The Batman trailer is here

I've just been assuming that you're joking, but then I realized that maybe you weren't. Now I don't know anymore and that makes me a little sad. Luckily, just like with comic books (good ones anyway), continuity should only matter when it does, when it's made an element of the story, and if...

    The Batman trailer is here

I think the drawn out beating might up end up being his way of putting on a show to intimidate a gang inspired by the Joker. Looks like it's working.

    The Batman trailer is here

I think the trailer's an interesting way to solve the post-Nolan problem. It's gone retro, taking up the space between Burton Gothic/Schumacher glam and whatever we want to call Nolan's post 9/11 look (I like Sharp Urban Nolan as a label). It's the 90s grunge Batman (hence the Seven and Crow...

    The Batman trailer is here

I think it's possible hush is involved. The Riddler was a large part of that story too. My random speculation is that it seems to be elements of the Hush story mixed in with "year two" elements of The Long Halloween and Dark VIctory mysteries.

    The Batman trailer is here

Looks good. I'm looking forward to getting a detective take on live action Batman for once. The voice sounds fine to me. I don't think that'll be anything like his Bruce Wayne voice, and I think there's a bit of growling in there too, when he's getting tased(?) that suggest something a bit more...

How long can video games continue this "Wait for sale" trend?

Yep. I rarely pay full price for games, but there's always the Nintendo tax. It helps that they're generally good, and feel like big events in terms of criticism and discussion.

Discuss and Rate the Last Film You Watched

I finally got around to watching Knives Out. I thought it was really fun. The twisting structure was clear enough to follow without too much difficulty. It managed to be funny without undercutting the murder mystery itself too much. The acting was great; I could easily watch Daniel Craig play...
