Personally, I would start with Nocturne, but there is an argument to be made for SMT IV as well. Both game are awesome all around. However, despite its middling story SMT IV: Apocalypse probably has the best combat of the three. It polishes IV's fantastic combat system in a lot of fundamental...
I have a feeling the combat will LOOK like Divinity but won't play like it at all given the 5e ruleset. That is to say, the way the UI is built and how you command your characters will feel very familiar but the tactical decision making will be completely different.
For sure, the scene that immediately springs to mind triggers when Jesse asks you about Tifa. Looking forward to seeing what else they have hidden from the demo build.
I also get very strong Bioware RPG vibes from the general gameplay. The way you explore environments, interact with NPCs, and transition to combat. The actual combat itself kinda resembles it on a surface level too. It's actually got me nostalgic for games I didn't imagine it could lol.
Based on what content creators/journalists have been saying after visiting the SE offices and previewing something resembling a final build of the game it sounds like the demo is pretty accurate combat mechanics-wise.
I know some are skipping the demo because they are getting the game regardless, but I think it's still worth playing for the combat alone. At a surface level it seems real button mash-y, but if you experiment a little you will quickly find there is some depth to it that the tutorials fail to...
To be fair, it is the perfect way to complete his arc and the game practically screams at you about his ultimate fate about a dozen times throughout the course of the story. Final Fantasy IX is probably my favorite ending to a game I have ever played, even if it is bitter sweet.
That's actually one of my main gripes with this otherwise amazing game. The axe is an incredibly noob-friendly cheese weapon and the saw cleaver is the most reliable and consistent weapon in the game (add fire paper and its serrated blade damage bonus completely erases beast bosses). It simply...
I feel like there is less you can screw up in Bloodborne compared to other Souls games. Whenever I replay it I just make sure to keep up with Eileen's movements throughout the story and make sure I don't screw up getting the three umbilical cords. No other content really gets locked out unless...
Personally, I am kind of thankful for how the situation has unfolded. I was sick and tired of getting bombarded by duplicates of the same stupid Asmongold Vlogs anytime I watched anything even remotely related to WoW or Twitch. All of the uploads funneling into a single channel should improve...
I used to do that a long time ago, but not these days. I had a habit of portraying my point of view as being more well informed than it typically was, and if I went back and combed my post history it would probably bug the shit out of me whenever I encountered those posts.
These days I just...
I love Cloud and Zidane. Zidane fit the tone of the story perfectly and was basically a better version of Vaan. As for Cloud, I really don't think he was as emo as people remember. Advent Children certainly did not help with that interpretation of him though.
It is funny you mention Vaan...
As others have mentioned already, Final Fantasy has always used the "Fantasy" part of its name broadly. As in, high fantasy and science fiction blended together.
That said, Yoshida (FFXIV's lead) is rumored to be putting together a team for FFXVI and has expressed interest in a more...
