I still haven't seen all of the entries, but after 50 third-rate Penny Arcades, a bunch of manga-type stuff, and the odd entry with stick figures, there's still nothing touching The Last Shot. I didn't mean to offend with my earlier comment, but I mean, next to "AWESOME", "decent" doesn't look...

The Last Shot OWNS. Every other entry I've checked out, including my own, looks like shit compared to it. Amazing work, dude who made that.

Reality check: Just because you preface your post with "reality check" doesn't mean you're not speculating. To be fair though, it could be written into the contract that the winner is not allowed to mention the fact they won until The Escapist announces it.

I think the contest page states something like, "no matter who wins, we are looking for people to contribute content". I've no idea what that might entail, whether that means multiple winners in a strict sense, or just that they'll reach out to anyone they thought had a decent submission to do...

All I know is this thread has given me more entertainment than 345 webcomics ever could. The damn thing goes from livejournal moping to 4chan jokes to deviantart on crack every five minutes.

For you maybe. Definitely for me. Some people could knock stuff like that out in an hour. Dude two posts up talking about drawing 15 seconds of trad animation a day for example (that's mad btw), if he or she is a technically good artist, I'm sure they can whip up something crazy in no time at...
