What modern video game would get you into gaming today, given your personality? (Context Included)

Seconded. Gaming is a pretty big medium nowadays. Most people have had at least some contact with it, so it would be pretty hard to find out what we would be like if we were non gamers. If I had to answer though... It would be Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. As a car buff, seeing people...

If you could bring back one thing about retro games what would it be?

If anything, I would die to see the return of arcade-like philosophies to the medium. I miss the days when games were meant to be fun. Stuff like Monkey Ball and Daytona USA (though I suspect this is mostly the bitter SEGA fan in me). Whatever happened to it's subgenres, like the arcade racer...

    I'm Thinking of Getting a 360

Your outta luck. Once the transaction is finished, the seller had no obligation IIRC. If you are going to buy a use 360, get it with some type of warranty, as you said before; my old Arcade edition still goes strong but it barely escaped the red rings a month ago. Otherwise, you are in for a...

PS4 makes history with 250,000 units sold across UK

The smell of a new console launch is a wonderful thing. Going to be camping out for my own PS4 this Sunday. But the fact Sony and Microsoft are selling out is a good sign, is it not? Better to have all of your stock gone instead of sitting on boxes. Sony(and maybe MS) look well on their way to...

    Oh those crazy physics!

That was from the last game Bizarre Creations were working on before they got canned. It looked really rad, and we'll never get to play it. ;_; This gen has been so hard on the devs of arcade racers.

Games you liked in Genres you hated

I don't care much for RPG's but I liked Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magic Obscura & Valkyria Chronicles. Maybe I'm a sucker for steampunk, or VC's strategy elements kick in. Both are wonderful & charming games, and you should really grab copies.

    Sonic falls again

Sonic is a pretty easy target for game journalists; never letting him live 06 down you see. =P Course, I've learned to just ignore them when it comes to the hedgehog, however I wonder how long his critic-proof shield will last.

    Sonic falls again

I would like some user impressions before going ahead and joining the "Sonic has no respect again" crowd. The fansite I go to is going nuts over them and we could use someone with a clearer head. I wonder how Sonic Team is feeling right now...

Convince Me To Buy A 3DS,

Yes. the 2DS is just a cost-cutting redesign. No features that use 3D are usable though.

Sonic Lost World Review - Beauty Is Only Quill Deep

Ouch. Reviews of this game are mostly in the 5's. It's like Unleashed all over again.

How do you feel about Collector's Editions?

Collector's Edition's are special versions of a game that are usually only available at launch. They often offer collector's items, such as figurines or replicas of items in the game. The prices for these are often way higher than the "standard" edition, sometimes ranging to $100. Almost every...

    Poll: The Kindness of Strangers

I've made a number of friends when I rented Borderlands 2, and aside from the occasional high-pitched 11 year old, I've found multiplayer chat to be generally positive. I find Co-Op games, Racing games, & nice online games to be the best place to fill out spaces on your friend list.

Convince Me To Buy A 3DS,

If you want one of the best Nintendo lineups, you should really get one. You can store it in you pocket unlike the Vita, and the games on display are some of Nintendo's finest(except 3D Land, which I found to be simply OK, and has turned me off of Nintendo, for at least a while), all of...

2K Marin Hit With Sweeping Layoffs

It's sobering in these days when one flop can make an entire studio go 6 feet under... Shame. I liked The Bureau. Hopefully they can get a Kickstarter or something up and running; these guys have the experience necessary to start one.

So how good is Bioshock:Infinite really ?(Spoiler free)

It is a pretty good game from what I have played. Columbia is a pretty nice world to explore despite the middle of the game being dragged down in a revolution that turns out to not affect the plot much(Finkton is a rather boring place). It may not be as memorable as Rapture, mostly due to...
