Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Review - Squeals and Fury

There's a couple of typos in the review: Paragraph one: "but ultimate succumbs to incomprehensibility." Page 2, paragraph two: "like pulling the occasional level,"

    Zero Punctuation: System Shock 2

A couple of details the review missed: - The multiplayer was actually added in an official patch, it was not something that a modder added. - Yes, the game seems difficult, but the game included a manual with lots of very specific details and hints to alleviate the difficulty. I know...

    Games you should have liked

For me, it was Mark of the Ninja. I thought I should love a nicely polished, side-scrolling stealth game (heck, I'm even making MY OWN side-scrolling stealth game!). And it's a well-made game, but something about its style turned me off... the out-of-focus backgrounds, the fact that half...

    Your Least Satisfying Gaming Victory

I would have to say Duke Nukem Forever. The whole game was just such rubbish I was constantly asking myself, "why am I playing this? Oh well, I'll just see it through to the end." Then I get to the end and the ending is basically nonexistant.

Poll: What do you think about circumcision?

I've researched this subject quite a bit, so I'll just throw in my comments, for whatever they're worth. I'm not circumcised, so most of this is just anecdotal. Also, I didn't read all 12+ pages of the thread, so I don't know if my comments are just repetition. Anyway, these are the pros and...

Best Buy Doesn't Respect Their Customers

If you threaten to take them to small claims court, they'll offer you a new TV. At least, that's what happened in my situation.

Batman: Arkham City reviews are out

Also see their review of Duke Nukem Forever... what was that, like 3.5? Lowest rating from any website, I think! Just checked out the ratings of Arkham City on Metacritic. Average of 95, so far. But I just love how there's the one reviewer who has to say, "Wellll...it's not QUITE as good...

What is truly wrong with gaming

I'm not saying your writing is bad, I'm just saying your post was an English teacher's nightmare. :)

    The Sims Medieval Review

It is definitely a bunch of stupid mundane quests that don't add up to anything. You're correct, they don't speak english, so instead we have huge pop-up text messages that constantly tell you about all the exciting adventurous things your Sims are ostensibly doing. Because, y'know, if you...

    The Sims Medieval Review

Oh man. That's EXACTLY how I felt when I played it. And I mean, exactly, right down to the word "ghastly." How did they manage to omit all of the parts I liked about The Sims 3 while simultaneously maintaining everything I hated about it?

    The Sims Medieval Review

I'd recommend waiting for a price drop. To me it feels like a game you'd pay $30 for, not $50. There's no building to speak of, and a lot less customization and freedom in general, so it has considerably less longevity than other Sims games, IMHO.

    The Sims Medieval Review

A few mistakes in this review: -The game is not made by Maxis, it's made by The Sims Studio. -The Sims 3 does not require "choosing two traits and one flaw", it requires choosing five traits. -"All of gameplay elements [from The Sims]" are definitely not "preserved"; for many players...

    278: Make Room for Kinect

I'm surprised that no one thought of using this whole "motion sensing" gimmick to resurrect the good old days of public arcades. Wouldn't it make more sense to do this kind of thing in a specially designed, carefully controlled environment? Oh yes, I know you don't want to waggle your body...

First Finished Kinect Commercials Pops Up on the Internet

If they really want Kinect to appeal to casual gamers, why not make it a stand-alone console? How many casual gamers already own an Xbox 360? If Kinect was a stand-alone console that only cost $150, I think it would be a huge success. But as it stands right now, the entry point for a...
