DOS games that still totally hold up today.

Dark Sun: Shattered Lands This one seems to get overlooked a lot when people talk about old D&D games. Very fun isometric RPG that takes place in the Dark Sun campaign setting. Has some bugs, a couple even game breakers if you can't get a patch, but over all the game holds up surprisingly well.

John Carpenter Sues Luc Besson for Plagiarism, Actually Wins

Like the article suggested, Carpenter might not have cared if he weren't already working on an Escape From New York remake. This might have even been a move he had to make to guard against Europacorp attempting the same to he and Fox, if the remake turned out to bare similarities to Lockout...

I think Fallout 3 will stay my favorite over 4: Immersion and protagonists.

Much as I loved Fallout 3, and I did, gotta disagree strongly with your assessment of the opening. The whole section with growing up in Vault 101 was completely bungled. There was no immersion there. The game never took your character or choices into account at all. Attempting to play a...

Schwarzenegger Gets Dramatic in New Zombie Flick Trailer

Might be interesting, though I have to admit that the fact that Arnold only has a single line in the whole trailer has me looking at it sidelong. Not saying that necessarily means anything, but thinking back on how bad his acting chops were when he made a go at comedy, I'm kind of bracing for...

    Servo is a Loot-Hunting RTS

Watching the video, the first thing that came to mind for me was the game Metal Fatigue by Zono Inc. Very similar in the mecha-focus, with the army merely a support element. Metal Fatigue didn't have loot collecting or in-map experience, though you did gain points you could use to level up...

Ubisoft Posts Laundry List of Assassin's Creed Unity Issues

Between this and Watch Dogs, Ubisoft really desperately needs to slow down it's rate of release, stop saturating the market with advertisements and hype, and focus hard on quality control. They make games that I like. Nothing I consider ground breaking, but things like Far Cry and Assassin's...

The Changing Face of Journalism: How We Will Meet the Challenge

Very much enjoyed reading this. I admire your principles, Mr. Keefer, and wish more gaming journalists (or just journalists in general) more clearly shared them. Thank you for giving us so many years of your life. As important as I feel this issue is, I still hope that knot in your stomach...

Titan Likely Cost Blizzard More Than $50 Million

As someone who isn't into MMOs, a game I'd have never played anyway not coming out doesn't disappoint me. I do feel bad for the developers who put in all the man-hours for it though. I don't doubt they were at least trying their best to make a fun game, so having it openly stated by Blizzard...

How EA's CEO is Developing from People's Need to "Steal"

So, let me see if I'm getting this right. It's a paywalled service to access a relatively narrow selection of games which are largely mediocre and themselves nickle and dimed to death on DLC? There may also be discounts of some variety. You pay them to get discounts for buying their already...

    Sharknado 3 Officially Announced

You know, it's not just sharks. There is also Metal Tornado and Alien Tornado. There may even be more, but those are the only two I can name off the top of my head. They really do just seem to make films by taking either Shark, Storm, or Tornado and slapping another word onto it. Then when...

Assassin's Creed: Rogue Revealed in Leaked Trailer - Update 2

I'm... remotely interested. I remember in the first Assassin's Creed feeling like they had done a FAR better job fleshing out the Templars than the Assassins. The antagonists in that game all had comprehensible and sometimes even sympathetic reasons for why they were doing the things they...

D&D Developers Explain Choices on Gender Diversity in New Edition

I... guess this is good? I don't know, it seems more like needless attention grabbing. To me it seems like it might be better if they just didn't make any statements about gender or sexuality at all. I've never known anyone who even paid attention to what they might have said about such...

Marvel Announces THIRD Untitled Mystery Movie For 2018

I hope it is the long awaited Stilt-Man movie.

Marvel's Russell Dauterman Shows Off Thor Odinson's New Look

Even when they make a relatively bad ass female design, they can't resist the urge to have her stand around with her hips swayed awkwardly.

EW Reveals New Avengers NOW Team

This has got to be one of the weirdest damn casts I've seen in a long time. I don't want to say that it reminds me of the Champions, but it totally reminds me of the Champions.
