The general consensus is that progamers need to practice in the realm of 8-10 hours a day to remain competitive. So they actually work more time than your usual 9-5 job.

Being "good at Starcraft 2" is related to how well you measure up against another person, and the most accurate way to measure that is through the 1v1 ladder. I can be playing 4v4s with people on grandmaster in 1v1 and be placed in masters 4v4, and that wouldn't tell me anything about my skill...

My point is that your rank in anything but 1v1 is meaningless to evaluate your skill in Starcraft 2.
