    Poll: Applauding In The Cinema

If people want to applaud then let them. I don't see the point but as long as they don't do it when the film is actually playing I don't really care. This seems to be a recent phenomenon in the UK to be fair. I've noticed some kids doing it during films and it makes me want to hit them. If they...

    Worst ending in a game.

Playing through Shenmue II on my dreamcast made me realise just how much I hate the entire fourth disc. One massive and meandering walk and talk with pointless QTEs followed by faffing around in a cave until I get it to light up and stare at a floaty sword. The end. Made even worse by the fact...

What is the hardest game for you to track down?

I got very lucky and picked up Panzer Dragoon Saga at a Game Station. Still the only version of the game I've ever seen in the flesh. Awesome game as well, even though it set me back £85.

    EPIC Boss fights

I just got through playing Shenmue again and I have to say that, if it counts, the 70 man battle culminating in the fight with Terry's right hand man is pretty epic. I love that game.

Your earliest memory and why you think it is.

My earliest memory is posting Christmas cards around my old street with my mom as a two year old. This has been confirmed as having actually happened by the parental in question and I have no idea why its the one that sticks out.

Within the principles of game design does FUN = GOOD?

But I believe you simplify games as an art form by claiming that their principle means is to entertain. While this is true of most games, it devalues those that have merit despite not necessarily being fun. Back in the 80's and 90's fun was definitely top of the agenda. But in my view games have...

Within the principles of game design does FUN = GOOD?

It all depends on the context of the game world. You mentioned story, narrative and the like earlier. I believe they are more important than you give them credit for, especially with todays games. A case in point. I don't find Silent Hill 2 fun in the traditional sense. I find it scary and...

    That One Level

If we are talking GTA: San Andreas then Zero's Supply Line mission on the PS2 version takes the cake for me.

    Craptacular Games You Love Regardless.

I will forever love Home Alone on the Megadrive. I got it with the console, alongside Sonic 2, Mega Games 2 and Robocod. For a while I loved it even more than those gems. I still love it now, thoughb it is undeniably shit.

    Is Resident Evil 4 scary?

Nah its not scary. One of the best games I've ever played but not scary. Its pretty much a straight action game, compared to the survival horror route of old though.

    Final Fantasy 12

When I first played through it I hated it. Disliked the gambit system and I felt the plot was particularly weak, which disappointed me even more so as it came from the guy who wrote Vagrant Story. However with hindsight the game had a lot of good about it. I could see myself getting better...

What are you playing this weekend? (It's all about games!)

I've just started cracking my way through Metroid Prime 2. I've owned it for about five years and never played it so figured it was about time.

Poll: Fallout: 3 GOTY or New Vegas

New Vegas has a whole lot more content, but is also supremely buggy, though obviously that sort of stuff will and is being patched. I'd say pick up Fallout 3 first though. There's still dozens of hours worth of gameplay to be had and it will set you up nicely for New Vegas in the process.

Which games are you currently playing ?

Playing Baten Kaitos on the Gamecube. Coming close to the end so doing my usual thing of putting off completing it now.

    Predators

I have literally just come back from the cinema after seeing it. I wasn't blown away, and I don't think it was as good as the first film. I'd agree with it being rated above all the predator films that came after though. I also think that Danny Trejo should have lasted longer. Perhaps he only...
