Totally agree. I am not so immersed in geek culture that I can identify every aspect of it, but often I see a cosplayer photo and think, "hey... that's cool... I'd like to learn more about the thing that inspired them."

There has never been a 3D movie that looked good to me. They all look like old Viewmaster Slideshows in motion. 3D should just be a dead fad.
I just got back from seeing Pacific Rim.
Every mistake that can made by a big budget, effects driven action movie has been made by Roland Emmerich. Every single time at bat, he has struck out -- despite the inexplicable commercial success of Independence Day. All of his movies just suck. ID4...
Bob... while I am really looking forward to a big two-hour eye candy explosion that will be a blast to watch,(I'm going to the next show in a few hours)... I have to say that comparing it to Independence Day raises a giant red flag.
