If you haven't played the first, I'd recommend you play through that before moving on to Portal 2. I like the sequel better, but I wouldn't appreciate it as much if I didn't have the context of what happened in the first. Get them both and I doubt you'll be disappointed.

I don't think I'd use the word 'admire', but I can appreciate when another person is playing a game well. I only get annoyed by it if they try to rub it in my face or be generally douchey about it.

Sounds good. I guess it was inevitable they make the switch to gunpowder-based weapons, but I know I'll probably still just end up riding around with a big-ass sword.

I thought leads would get a little more, but mostly that seems about right. It's a known fact that you don't get into the games industry to make money, you get into it for the love of it. Sounds like audio is where it's at though.

Play games when you feel like playing them. Like all hobbies, people go through phases where they're really into it, and others where they're not so. Your particular feelings probably have a lot to do with playing a lot from the same genre, and replaying a lot of games - anybody would get tired...
