Who should Disney trust with Star Wars if they drop EA?

This right here. If you look at all the Star Wars games, a lot of them came from different developers and they were better for it. Factor 5 with Rogue Squadron, Pandemic with Battlefront, Bioware with KOTOR, Petroglyph with Star Wars Empire at War, etc. Such a huge variety of games ranging...

Poll: So where have all the VR talk gone?

Well whaddya know, it seems you're right. You have to change it in the settings menu because the teleporting is the default setting but it is indeed there. Pleased to say it works quite well, more or less the same as it works in google earth. No dizziness after an hour of gameplay, so that's great.

Poll: So where have all the VR talk gone?

Oh cool, I didn't know the Serious Sam games have free movement, I thought it was teleportation based only. Definitely going to check it out now, haven't had much time to do VR related stuff for a while due to busy schedule. The last VR game I bought was Arizona Sunshine, I've really enjoyed...

Poll: So where have all the VR talk gone?

You're reading too much into this and you're taking it out of the context of my post. The point of posting those articles wasn't the amount of weight that was lost, it was the fact that VR involves physical activity and can be used for exercise. Nobody loses weight like that without also...

Poll: So where have all the VR talk gone?

Yes. So far, the only time I've ever really gotten motion sickness was while trying to play Half-Life 2, Dear Esther, and other "traditional" games in VR using VorpX. Absolutely horrendous experience, almost vomited. I also tried Adrift and didn't like it either. For the most part, traditional...

Poll: So where have all the VR talk gone?

Ha it's funny you say that, it's become a bit of a hobby for me too! Seeing the reaction of someone trying out VR for the first time (especially someone who has never heard of it) is priceless. It's like a deaf person hearing sound for the first time. One of my favorite moments so far was...

Valve Hires Some Former Kerbal Space Program Devs, but the Core Team is Still Working on the Game

Yeah Valve is actually developing 3 "full" VR games simultaneously, they're most likely using Unity again like they did with The Lab. Kerbal Space Program is made with Unity and the devs have done a lot of custom stuff with it so that's probably why Valve wants to bring their expertise with the...

Poll: So where have all the VR talk gone?

That's fair. But to be honest I don't see that as necessarily being VR's fault and maybe more about your own expectations because well, experiencing heat and smells would be extremely inconvenient. If you wanted those you could just go and make a real fire. Meaning it kind of defeats the purpose...

Poll: So where have all the VR talk gone?

Out of curiosity, do you also have a Vive/Rift, or only the GearVR? The reason I ask is because there's a big crucial difference between GearVR and Vive. It's not the controllers (although that's an obvious one), its the fact that GearVR doesn't do position tracking, only rotation. I used...

Poll: So where have all the VR talk gone?

With respect, but playing games with Kinect and Vive/Rift level VR isn't even remotely comparable. The reason is because Kinect and motion controls in general are just a small piece of the puzzle. They translate your movements to the virtual world but you're still viewing that world on a tiny 2...

Poll: So where have all the VR talk gone?

Alright so I've had the Vive almost since the day it came out. As far as I'm concerned the VR talk is still around, it's just that the main hype surrounding the launch has died down. Right now it's only really the enthusiasts that own VR headsets due to the price point so obviously it's not...

Star Wars Battlefront 2 Will Feature a Full Singleplayer Campaign

I have a feeling that when talking about other eras, that's probably what it will be (Force Awakens and Rogue One eras), mainly due to how much Disney seems to want to distance itself from the prequels. That being said, if they include Clone Wars era, I'll be pleasantly surprised. I always liked...

Nintendo "Studying" VR - May Add it To Switch if Tech Improves

Chet and Valve are completely right. When you play Vive games designed for VR from the ground up, games like Tiltbrush, The Blu, Arizona Sunshine, The Lab, Waltz of the Wizard, etc. you don't get any motion sickness at all. I've had a 100% success ratio with every person I've shown these games...

Rogue One Team Defends Use of CGI Characters

I thought the CG was great too. Due to how many people didn't realize they were CG I honestly have to wonder how much of the complaints are actually due to people knowing beforehand that they were CG and therefore are actively looking for flaws. When you think it's CG, you're going to scrutinize...

Saddle Up for the Blade Runner 2049 Trailer

The thing that really sold me was that he directed Prisoners too, which has that slower paced rainy day brooding noir investigation vibe the original Blade Runner had. Combine that with those other elements from his other movies together and Ridley Scott as executive producer and I feel this...
