Trying to reach Escapist editorial staff

Very prompt reply from Kyle that certainly provides a plausible explanation. [https://twitter.com/kylegaddo/status/1099176564443484160] Thanks for the assist, Tippy.

Ah. I will refer you to my "I haven't been on the forum since the site started breaking last year" comment above.

Trying to reach Escapist editorial staff

I'm less familiar with the inner workings of the Escapist than forum regulars, I guess. Who's Steve?

Trying to reach Escapist editorial staff

I knew he'd stepped away from Twitter but didn't realize there was no one at the wheel of the entire site right now.

Trying to reach Escapist editorial staff

To start off with, hello again to the Escapist forum. I've been away from the forum since the site originally started falling apart last year, and I doubt I'll be around again very often until things are fixed/migrated over to v2. Regardless, I've popped on to post this on the forum because I...

    A nitpick on Persona 4

The cafe doesn't raise your stats: it gives you skill cards. Which arguably makes even less sense, but whatever. It's a video game, things don't need to make complete logical sense all the time. Remember the nearby city that shows up in a couple social link events? In Golden, you can unlock...

    A nitpick on Persona 4

I have no idea. Funny timing seeing this thread now though, when literally five minutes ago I beat Margaret in my latest NG+ run of Golden. Just one trophy left to platinum the game, but it's frustratingly not one you can get on the final day.

    Jam - Yahtzee Croshaw

I want to read it but it's out of print. And fuck ebooks.

    Good PC/Electronics Cleaner?

I use a can of compressed air for smaller electronics, and a leaf blower for full-size computers.

    Some design choice you question

I actually really like MGS2, and that final act with the swordfighting is thematically appropriate given the story (that's around the time that Raiden more or less escapes being manipulated into becoming a copy of Snake and chooses a path to become his own person... maybe. The game's such a...

    Some design choice you question

Final boss fights that throw out the established gameplay genre in favor of something completely different. Looking at you, Devil May Cry rail-shooter boss. And you, Drakengard ending E rhythm minigame boss. And you, other examples that I could probably name if I wanted to spend more time on...

Discuss and Rate the Last Thing You Watched (non-movies)

I recently finished the 2010-2015 Syfy show "Haven," a supernatural police procedural that's very, very loosely based on the Stephen King book The Colorado Kid. And by "very, very loosely," I mean there's an unsolved murder, and characters called The Colorado Kid and Vincent Teague, and that's...

PSA: The Darkness II free on Humble

I'm still frustrated to this day that the first one never got a PC port. I can never get comfortable playing a shooter with a gamepad.

GOG.com is now selling the Lucasarts classics, Maniac Mansion and Curse of Monkey Island.

Curse of Monkey Island was actually the first adventure game I played as a kid that wasn't either from Humongous or an educational game. It'll be fun to revisit. Yep! When playing as Bernard, go to Weird Ed's room and use the computer. It'll load up Maniac Mansion. This still works in the...
