    Quit It

On cliche #1, a movie that I think pulled it off in much better fashion than people gave it credit for is Cars. No, stop, hands down from the keyboard before you type out your pre-programmed "worst thing Pixar ever did, why is it getting a sequel" opinions. Let me explain. After Lightning...

What's Wrong with the new Star Wars?

I haven't posted on these forums in years. I have specifically gotten my password back to direct people to this: http://www.redlettermedia.com/phantom_menace.html Here, you'll find the first instalment of a series of video reviews that carefully and thoroughly explains why each of the...

"If men could only know each other, they would neither idolise nor hate." - Elbert Hubbard If I had a motto to live by, that would be it. No doubt about it.

    Zero Punctuation: LEGO Indy

But we spent so long documenting the song choices on Wikipedia. WHAT THE HELL HAPPENS NOW? Good review.

Games you loved then, but dislike now.

Wow, I just got a huge nostalgic feeling. I loved the second game and then Age of Mythology after that. But yes, there are definitely better alternatives nowadays. On the positive side, Mario 64 is a game that has definitely aged well. I never owned an N64, so I found an emulator and played...

    Best video game commercial

Wow, very nice. Here's my contribution: 1. Phil Hartman goes nuts for Ice Hockey, by Activision: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=lROb1vWNiig 2. A couple of Sonic Adventure ads that seem to make me grin. http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=8jp0ReAjNYY 3. This one isn't a TV commercial...

Games you loved then, but dislike now.

That's a good point to bring up. Some games, while touted as revolutionary and significant, have simply been improved upon to the point that it's not particularly fun to play them. I'm not saying that they're not worthy of recognition; it's just the truth that they haven't aged that well.

Games you loved then, but dislike now.

Wow, I remember seeing a commercial for the first game on PS1, then owning it that Christmas. I liked Bob Burnquist the best. Why? He came from Brazil, that's why. Crazy exotic 'n' stuff. I've moved on to more interesting multiplayer experiences since, though. I guess everyone has, really...

Games you loved then, but dislike now.

They fascinated you in past years, but you've become disillusioned since. Which are they for you? Anyone remember Croc: Legend of the Gobbos on PS1? It dazzled me as a kid, but I tried going back to it and was overwhelmed by the redundancy.

    Poll: Free-Running?

Sure, I'm all for it. By the way, you know what character I think could benefit from free running in his games? Sonic the Hedgehog.

Pre-release hype: I want to ignore it forever.

Upcoming movies and games - the two forms of creative media I sustain interest in - are saturated with it. I'm getting tired of it, and I want it to stop influencing my opinion so much. Mind you, I'd still watch for new releases and check critical opinions before buying a game or ticket to a...

    148: Managing Expectations

That pretty accurately reflects my feelings as well. Great article!

    Abbreviations

MK = Mario Kart. That can be followed with 64, SC (Super Circuit, the GBA title), DD, DS or Wii, or preceded by S, depending on which installment is being discussed.

    Your favourite DS game

Hey, I enjoy that game, too. It's a pity about this series, though. Make no mistake, it still entertains me, but it's lost a bit of that hilarious and fresh "wow" factor it had when it first came out on the GBA. It's almost as if Nintendo uses it as a tech demo for every new console. With...
