go to Tom's Hardware and pick the recommended card in your price range unless: you have a particular need for cuda or 3d gaming, I believe SLI scaling works slightly better than crossfire too. If any of these things are on your roster, go for a Nvidia card. Just make sure your power supply...

I think steam should have this. *shrugs* doesn't really matter because I don't have a smartphone... Or that much time to play games while at school.

I'll tell you why PC gaming in retail is failing. Go to a game-stop and see how many games they actually have, how much knowledge the employees have about different PC games. And the price compared to Steam.

I have bought games from steam if I really enjoyed them. I usually wait until they have a fantastic deal. Most recently I purchased Company of Heroes and the Overlord pack. I hardly pirate a lot of stuff. Hell half the stuff I pirate are game disks I lost a long time ago.

I am interested in kinect from a non-gaming perspective. Having to never rummage around to find remote controls? Hell add a browser and I might need to drag myself off the couch. I'm a purist though. Mouse/keyboard is the only way to go imo. Unless you are playing a racing game, smash...

I wonder which games he is referring to. So long as complex messages in games aren't intrusive I don't have a problem with that. See: left 4 dead. Simple, passive, and eat what you want storytelling.

You are 3 years too late MS. Steam is becoming the mecca of PC gaming. There are a few holdouts (blizzard, RTS gaming). But pretty much everybody is hoping on board, indie devs too.

Last game I bought that wasn't digital was Supreme Commander. I really do appreciate being able to not have to worry about where my disks are. Then again I don't even own a console. I got a e4500 OC'd to 2.6 ghz, a 4850, and 4 gigs of ram. I'm good to go!
