If Your could be any Comic Character....

I'm going to go with Colossus. Yeah, he's had his share of personal tragedies by any measure. But he still manages to have a pretty good life overall. No matter how much bad shit happens to him, he's still a "good guy". I can identify with his positive attitude, and his selfless actions.

Your Most Egotistical Fictional Prick Ever

KEFKA Holy crap Kefka MUST be the most egotistical prick that ever was. He destroys the very world that he wants to rule over for NO REASON other than he wants to be EVEN MORE POWERFUL. Basically he would rather be a God that rules over a ruin than a King that rules a flourishing kingdom.

    Who's going to Dragon*Con?

We're packing up the car and heading to Dragon*Con tomorrow morning! Anyone else going to be there? This will be our 7th year going, and we're excited as always. Doing some very casual Star Trek cosplay, nothing fancy.

    Poll: Oblivion Was Better

Oblivion was boring. It's PC interface and controls were embarrassingly bad. It's leveling system was broken. NPC interaction was a joke. Skyrim isn't boring, I find the gameplay much more engaging. There is more to do in the world. The PC interface is better but not great (solvable by...

    Poll: Do you support evolution?

And therein is the second part of your problem. You're assuming the language in that section of the Bible is meant to be taken literally. The Bible is filled with symbols, double-meanings, and allegory. Since you can't go right up and ask the person who wrote the Bible what they intended...

    Poll: Do you support evolution?

All you've done is to provide a possible definition for a "day", and then assume that definition MUST be applicable to the phrase in the bible. Since the Bible contains many phrases of multiple interpretations, and is rife with symbolism and metaphor, you know no such thing. I can write tons...

PBS Video on Tabletop Gaming (Dungeons & Dragons)

I'm completely baffled that kids these days even still make the occult D&D references. I thought this was something that nerds outgrew in the 80's like heavy metal kids did with their Judas Priest music.

PBS Video on Tabletop Gaming (Dungeons & Dragons)

I wish my parents actually paid attention to the actual content of the game to that degree. They didn't know what books were what, or what anything of it was. I remember having a discussion with my parents about it when they were harping on how "negative" it was. I told them there's lots of...

PBS Video on Tabletop Gaming (Dungeons & Dragons)

I actually had a similar experience. When I was in middle-school and playing D&D my parents thought it was "negative". They weren't religious, but I think at its core what they didn't like was the idea of killing creatures and people for experience and treasure. In spite of that they let me...

PBS Video on Tabletop Gaming (Dungeons & Dragons)

Like a couple other people that have already posted here, I cut my teeth on D&D. My first roleplaying purchase was the Players Handbook to AD&D 2nd Edition. Since then here's the list of games I've played that I can remember: AD&D 2nd Mechwarror (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th Editions... we've...

My faith in Anime is.....restored! Here's why.

I feel the same way about Death Note. It was a great watch, but it doesn't hold up well to multiple viewings. When you're watching it for the first time though, there are many "OMG I HAVE TO WATCH THE NEXT EPISODE TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS NEXT" moments.

My faith in Anime is.....restored! Here's why.

My faith in Anime hasn't been completely restored, but I think part of that is just because I'm older now, and the type of anime that the kids are into these days and the studios make don't appeal to my 30-something self as much as they used to appeal to my 20-something self. The last Anime...

    What's the Beef With Origin?

Here, here. Valve does pretty good customer service wise, but CD Projekt has really set the bar high for the exact reasons that Thoric laid out. CD Projekt doesn't have an issue selling Witcher through it's own system, or its competitors. They could EASILY require you to use GoG to...

    What's the Beef With Origin?

I'll preface this by saying that I don't have Origin. I've managed to avoid it thus far. Very sadly I'll probably lose that battle one day when I finally decide to play Mass Effect 3. I'm surprised that some of these points regarding Origin haven't been made. I'll skip the ones that...
