I was under the impression it was as favourably received, if not more so, as the first game. And the game was definitely a milestone for atmosphere and story telling.

When I buy console games, JB Hi Fi have the cheapest prices, hands down.

Yeah, I have to agree. Kool & The Gang have some seriously funky music. You cannot not dance to Jungle Boogie.
I also want to add that I learnt a long time ago that music that is GOOD does not necessarily always correlate with music that makes you want to dance.
