Oculus Rift Will Cost More Than $350, Says Founder

Yeah $400 is far too much if they want to build an eco-system. They really need to be pushing these things out as a loss leader if they want to get any traction. At that price point I'll have a look at the Vive instead, or at the very least, wait for the 4k version. Plus VAT, remember...

Uncivil War: Yahtzee Eats His Mustard

If you watch his videos on YouTube, he says he has a girlfriend currently, I presume that's her, and can only wonder what a (presumably) adult woman thinks of this kind of thing!

    MovieBob Presents E3: The Movie

Bravo Bob! That's the best thing I've read all week! I just can't decide whether it was the lampooning of e3, or Hollywood which was best. No, no, it was the one liners. Definitely the one liners!

UK Phone Carrier O2 Offering Xbox One and PS4 Contract Plans

What? No. Maths does not work that way. Xbone - £430 Lumia 1020 - £620 Fifa - £40 Phone contract - ~£20 a month so £240 = £1330 Not a terrible deal. And I forgot to include the price of XBL.

A Bright Future or Dark Days for PC gaming?

DirectX is an API, that is, it's a standard was of interacting with graphics cards. It doesn't matter what graphics card a person has, as long as you're DirectX compliant then it'll work. The alternative is low level coding, which accesses the features of the hardware more directly, but in...

    The 8th generation arrived.....last year.

Seriously? Until recently the whole concept of generations was literally defined by 8 bit, 16 bit, and 32 bit. It has always been that way, otherwise the whole generation thing becomes meaningless. The Wii U isn't 8th gen because it is basically the same as the 7th gen stuff. If you want to...

    What is a 'Set Piece'?

A large amount of the responses sadden but don't surprise me. Set pieces are one of the key elements which lifted Half Life and HL2 above the typical shooters of their day. Think the final fight in HL2 where you're driving round in the car trying to launch bombs onto the bottom of striders, or...

    Crysis could use a reboot.

I say ditch the lot except for the open style of the first game and the nanosuit. The first game was half ok, it pretty much went to shit when the aliens turned up, but since then, meh. I simply don't think it's strong enough to reboot.

Could The Steam Box eat at the PS4/XBone? (Sales Wise?)

And yet still approximately 4 times the size of a set top box, and that being my point! Sure sizes have really come down, but they're still far too big, especially the prodigy.

Could The Steam Box eat at the PS4/XBone? (Sales Wise?)

My predictions - The Steam Box is not a console, it will not affect the console market. It will instead be a smartly designed, reasonably powerful, small PC. It will not be a locked down system, at the worst it will be a customised Linux distro. Price point would be no less than £500...

Game of Thrones Goes 8-Bit in Free Platformer

I'm sorry to be 'that guy' but that's nothing like 8 bit. Far more like 16 bit.

Consider laying it on its side if it has a massive aftermarket heatsink but apart from that you'll be fine.

Routine Gameplay Trailer is Shockingly Good

Jump scares, the game! Also, that on Occulus Rift? I ... I don't know if I could handle that.
