Reminds of the movie Braveheart. The whole affair with the princess was made up- IRL she was like 9 years old when William Wallace was leading his rebellion.
But it made for a hell of a movie!
(a bit of extra coincidence or irony or whatever that that movie was made and starred someone who would...
Will it? The only three IPs that still make them money are gonna stick around a lot longer, but they're specifically stripping them away from the Ubisoft name. If anything we might be looking at an Atari situation where it technically still exists as a corporate entity but it doesn't really...
I know it's great.
Usually I roll my eyes at internet memed "good-bad" entertainment but I'm all in on this one. Love it, especially the terrible dialogue.
"I am bigger and stronger" "But I am smarter!" Dear lord, there should have been a cartoon character promoting a sugar cereal after that...
Rant: release days.
Apparently, the entire video game industry just doesn't want to release anything in like ALL of next year because of GTA6. Not just big open world games about urban crime, but like cozy games and platformers and everything.
It's insane!
One of the great things of gaming...
I'd say u/BrawlMan is being generous. Yahtzee f'n hates this game, and of course he does. Not only is it mediocre ("bland" is his favorite descriptor) but a complete waste of time for a reviewer interested in new game ideas and narrative driven experiences. And it's like 80 hours or whatever...
For real an all-time favorite like top 5 movie for me. One of the few I've purposefully (meaning, not just cause it's on TV or as a joke or to have in the background while hanging out with folks) rewatched multiple times.
We finished season 1 of Invasion and then I went to read online reviews and wow did people hate this show hahah.
It's one of those things where I can agree with most of the criticism, but I enjoyed watching anyway.
The biggest criticisms are:
1- They take too long to get to the aliens, and when...
I have this goal of- if we can buy a house (lol amirite, we're in the northeast US so I'll keep dreaming) to have a lounge/entertainment room that will include all sorts of vintage stuff including an old TV and consoles.
Hijack stars Idris Elba dealing with a, well, hijack, of a plane. This isn't Air Force One, he's a business negotiator guy so it's more about tense drama. I had heard mixed things so I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
Bad Monkey is not a miniseries it's a show that had one season so far...
Wife and I gave up after two episodes. The mini-series that could have been a movie really hit us hard and then there's that decision of well do we care enough to see where this goes and we just didn't. We didn't hate it we just... watched other stuff, I guess?
Right.... and it was fair to compare it to AC for the open world sandbox busy with same-y activities structure. But it's just the fact that its demise was lamented while "omg another AC" is easy internet points that I'm making fun of.
Especially connected to your excellent point about the art...
The reason that I say "brown" is a state of mind more than a color palette is precisely because I wasn't talking about actual color.
Basically I was thinking about jank, and a sort of charming kluginess that marked the late PS1 to early PS3 years. That feeling of trying to walk around a mountain...
Brown is as much as state of mind as a color palette.
Dragon's Dogma Again, Indiana Jones and the Circle of Trends, a game that just came out whose name I already forget except I know it starts with an A and looks like Skyrim, and Kingdom Come On Delivery Me From First Person Survival Mechanics...
