What narrative can I learn? (Literary Cannon)

Oh and my favorite books of all time Nightfall and Other Stories by Issac Assimov and Hard Landing by Algis Budrys (anything by Budrys is freaking awesome though if you like that style, not quite scifi cannon but it damn well ought to be).

What narrative can I learn? (Literary Cannon)

The Foundation series by Issac Assimov, Alas Poor Babylon by Philip K. Dick. The Bell Jar by Slyvia Plath (though I hate it, it gives perspective). A Portrait of Dorian Grey by Oscar Wilde. Any of H.P. Lovecraft's Short stories. The Dune Saga and Hellstrom's Hive by Frank Herbert. Origin of...

    Most Badass Character Death.

A babarian DnD character of mine died by being chucked through the living body of Tiamat, taking her heart out the other side. Thrown by a troll at a giant world ending dragon and killing it.

How do zombies work? (logical turbulance possible)

Rabies would be the best option: violence, aggression, compulsive biting and salivation. I wouldn't couple it with HIV though. HIV takes time to manifest symptoms and sometimes years after that to destroy the immune system. Ebola would decrease brain function and cause bleeding. Mumps could...

    Most irritating logical fallacy

False Dichotomy, a brilliant idea. It spawned dualistic thinking, black or white, heaven or hell live or die. there are no alternative, no real choices, no clever solutions. I truly despise the inability to accept or even consider an alternative solution to any issue.

Are you a good cook ?

I cook alot of Thai, Indian and Korean style food. While I can make just about anything into a meal, I can not bake to save my life. Which is ironic since my sister is a pastry chef. But for lentil curry or lamb with minto pesto few can compare.

    Oblivion

If you haven't already, it's worth the money to buy Shivering Isles. The quests are fun, the characters are more original than any where else in the game and you get cool clothes. Definitely one of my favorite parts of the game (I was an assasin too). Edit: Also the freaking Wabbajack!

Did Mass Effect Steal It's Story Outright?!

There are no original ideas. There are only original people. Barbara Grizzuti Harrison I honestly don't believe that mass effect's main story was plagiarized, there is way too much content between the two games about the history and culture of the original races that effect the personal...

Great Books of The Nineteenth and Twentieth Century

There's a special place in my heart for The Picture of Dorian Grey, but my all time favorites are "Nightfall" and "In a Good Cause-" by Isaac Asimov and Alas, Poor Babylon by Pat Frank. As well as practically anything written by Algis Budrys.

    The Escapist Cocktail Thread

Blackberry infused voldka and any sort of light fizzy fruit drink (blood orange Italian soda is best) mixed in equal parts with ice, is delicious and dangerous because you can hardly taste the alcohol
