    Poll: Fellow Oldscapists!

Christ, I can't believe I joined this forum over four and a half years ago. I have to admit, I very rarely actually go onto the forums nowadays, although I used to be quite a regular, even if I was never one of the massive posters. I suppose I left due to a mixture of recognisable posters...

Poll: Just pulled my first college all-nighter, you ever done it?

I haven't really done full all-nighters, usually I try to get a couple of hours of sleep as I find myself rewriting my code every 5 minutes when I'm particularly tired/stressed.

What do you think of a book driven by dialogue?

What are the characters doing while they're talking? If it's something dynamic (like taking a walk), you could occasionally focus attention on whatever different sights they see and even reflect this in their dialogue.

Survival Horror on a Cruise Ship

This is eerily similar to a cyberpunk-horror game I had recently, it also used the idea of "modded neural interface to replace eyesight", except its system was based off using geo-tagged images from the net to construct a 3d space, with other features like people's appearance being a collage of...

Poll: Do you have a phobia?

Heights Mortality Existential Dread Becoming so introspective and confined by my own thoughts that I cut myself away from others. Falling into nihilism. Yep.

    Post counts are to important.

Everyone knows that you judge someone based on their avatar, not their post count, duh.

How big is your itunes library?

1268 songs, 3.4 days worth of music. It doesn't seem like much compared to others here, but I have an unbreakable habit of buying almost all of my music in CD form.

Your first live show of a band and how you felt?

My first was a music festival called Harvest Festival with Portishead, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, TV On The Radio, The Walkmen, The National and most importantly, The Flaming Lips. The band entered on-stage through a giant techni-colour vagina, followed by the lead singer crows-surfing in a...

    Poll: Favorite drink containing alcohol

Gin. It has a delicious flavour on its own, but is also great for mixing, like gin and tonics and martinis.

    Your all-time favorite album.

For me it would probably be either: In An Aeroplane Over The Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel or Lonesome Crowded West by Modest Mouse I can see how people could dislike either of them, but to me they are amazingly emotional.

    Recommendation for dark/gritty/depressing films

"The Diving Bell And The Butterfly" could be both seen as depressing or inspiring. It's based on a true story about a man who suffers a stroke and his only form of communication with the world is blinking his left eye (his right one got sewn shut). Oh and also "Grave Of The Fireflies", it's...

What's With Everyone Wearing Headphones Recently?

I've never really like earbuds as much as headphones, the sound quality is way worse and they're more uncomfortable. Generally if I'm being fairly mobile, I'll use earbuds, but otherwise I'll wear my headphones.

    THQ Lays Off Staff

Then again, companies have a tendency to treat their testers like dirt, no matter what how well they're doing. I wonder how much of this may have been caused by the latest Red Faction game's flop?

What if you could erase one aspect of mankind?

I wouldn't, all of our actions are rationalised by our own internal logic, to change that would be to recreate every individual person into something different, maybe something better, but what right would I have to do such a thing?
