Retro was originally making Metroid Prime from a third person point of view, it was Miyamoto who wanted the game to be from the first person. Anyhow, Retro seems like a fully competent group of people who would do the Zelda series good.

Motion controls dumb down the game to compensate for all of the technical issues they bring in. I remember watching my brother play Twilight Princess and thinking "wow that looks so easy", then I watch him play Skyward Sword as he struggles to do the slash just right against a deku plant...

Rift is pushing out content patches really fast as the 3rd one is on the way toward the end of June. Unfortunately content patch means more instanced content. Rather than push what makes the game different from WoW they're pushing what makes them exactly the same and hope that it's just better...
