Do you love or hate your job?

I teach at a special needs school. Love it. My days are always different and are as fun as I make them. On the whole I work with some great people who make me laugh and are fun to be around. The downside is that I don't have as much time to play games as I did before I went into teaching as...

Okkervil River's Latest Album Spawns 8-Bit Adventure Game

Excellent news. Okkervil River are a fantastic band, been looking forward to the release of the new album for a while now but had no idea there was going to be a game to accompany it. I'm going to check this out right now.

Poll: Do you buy your beer in cans or in bottles?

I prefer bottles but I buy whatever currently represents the greatest value for money among the beers that I like.

your last game purchase? was it worth it?

I got Fallout New Vegas for £7.99 which I am pleased about. Really enjoying it even though the purchase was an odd decision seeing as I didn't really get on with Fallout 3. So yeah, well worth it.

    The Big Picture: The Numbers

That was one of the best the big pictures that I have seen. I have wondered for a while if there are more people in the sort of demographic that films like Scott Pilgrim are aimed at that would be easily able to/happy to pirate the film. If this was the case then those sort of films would be...

    Jimquisition: Solving the Sexism Situation

Perhaps people are right and it would be better as a column but I'm not convinced of that. it was better than last week but I say that in the same way that, when i used to be a lifeguard, finding a solid turd in the pool is better than a loose, runny one...

Poll: Do you like the Jim Inquisition show?

I thought it was terrible and had no place on the escapist becasue it doesn't bring anything new to the table. After watching the first one I planned on reserving judgement on jimquisition until I had watched the next couple but after checking out his stuff on destructoid I can say that it would...

Jimquisition: Videogames Are Not Movies, Get Over It

That was pretty rubbish. Guess I will give it a go again over the next couple of weeks before I make a final decision on it but I felt it was way too long, repetitive and lacked the genuine insight of something like Extra Credits. Also I wonder if the actual point was lost in the attempts to...

Poll: Do you think Esports should be taken as serious as traditional sports?

It is more useful becasue society has made it more useful. If you can make a living out of a skill, however arbitary or worthless some people judge it to be, then it clearly has value.

Poll: Do you think Esports should be taken as serious as traditional sports?

It doesn't matter what people think, it is what they do. The reason so many people enjoy sport is because it is a brilliant spectacle to them, this then gets turned into a moneyspinner. If any game/egame became attractive enough for spectating then it becomes as serious as a "traditional...

    Xbox 360 Stealth Games

Hi memebers of the escapist. I havn't really been keeping track of games recently or playing many but I am after a good stealth game to tickle my taste buds. What would your guys recommendation be? Thanks.

Poll: How many letters of "Escapist" do you have to type into the URL bar to get here?

Only the e. Right underneath it is elbo.ws and then underneath that is more escapist.
