Yahtzee killed it in this video. I was rolling over several of the jokes. Loved it.
"Yes Microsoft, we could. Hypothetically."
-edit-
Oh, and faithful gamer cynic here -- haven't pre-ordered a game in... I can't remember how long. I was tempted for some of the Dishonored shite, but...
"...was a lot less clever than it thought it was. Despite its lofty philisophical ambitions, the plot wasn't making any kind of actual point. It just dropped a lot of existential thematic elements on the garage floor..."
-see: Just about any edgy Japanese anime, game, or [probably] pop...
This is the first non-orgasmic review of this game I've come across. Thank goodness we have Yahtzee over here keeping it real among game critics.
(Granted I don't consume very many reviews period).
It's a given nowadays whenever Square releases a game that's NOT Final Fantasy (we're all on the hate-bus for that unless it's an MMO) that it's an artistic masterpiece. Square has the monopoly on classic JRPGs while Atlas contends for the modernized JRPG with Persona.
So all Square needs...
I'm glad Yahtzee constantly mentions his disfavor for multiplayer game so I don't sound like the only solitary loser on the gaming forums. Godforbid you ask a younger gamer if a game like LoL or Call of Duty has a single player mode, you'll get laughed out of the park.
1st bit of news I heard about TEW: Horror game published by Bethesda. -Sounds good.
2nd bit of news I heard about TEW: By the guy that did the Resident Evil series. -Yep, no longer interested.
RE isn't bad, if it's your cup of tea then good on you but I did dislike this re-branding...
I recall when Msoft did this for Silent Hill 2 and I raged super hard. They did it for Skyrim and I got kinda peeved. Thankfully by now I just don't care anymore. I can see how it sucks for people that actually care about the titles though.
If it doesn't come to PC, I don't buy it. And...
I found the imp with giant sweaty baps to be considerably more humorous than the average internet fare. Thanks for that.
I'm at the initial stage Yahtzee was at - the game seems cool and all but I can't seem to motivate myself to play further in to it. I dislike the narrator this time...
I don't know if people are willfully forgetting, never heard about, or are indeed remembering when Far Cry 3's story was criticized and the developers retorted with "It's a satire of other action games". Except it really didn't seem that way, it seemed like grasping at straws after people take...
I'm a pretty cynical gamer; I've refrained thus far from purchasing any of these full price + microtransaction games. I get the feeling watching videos like this however that I'm in the minority. PvZ is a poster child for selling out. I haven't followed what the original devs did, hopefully...
Glad Jim took the time to do a video on this right when it popped up. I had suspected he might.
When the news broke it was cool to totally lose your ***t, but when everyone realized that's what everyone else was doing it consequently became cool to play it down.
Like Jim I have little...
When Skyrim was coming out I recall a bit of fervor over the proposed 'dumbing down' of the interface/character aspects. This is one of those scenarios that was going to have a backlash either way. The purists are going to be upset if it's anything less than Morrowind level complexity, whereas...
