    E3: Prey 2

Then you might want to stock up on tissues sometime soon [http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118036112].

    E3: Prey 2

I actually did end up watching it yesterday. Not sure which version you saw, but I definitely prefer the director's cut to the original version I saw about a year ago. I'm not a hardcore sci-fi fan, but I love Star Wars, Dune, Ender's Game, Close Encounters, etc. The "ugly, smokey, dark"...

    E3: Prey 2

I'm actually a big fan of the first Prey. Even if the "Cherokee heritage" aspect was a little heavy-handed, I thought it was a nice FPS in the vein of HL2. Of course, I bought it used for a ridiculously low price, which made me a little more appreciative. But back on topic, I'm glad that...

Poll: What type of POV do you prefer while writing?

Third-person limited right now, just because I've had the most experience using it. It lets you get inside the protagonist's head but doesn't restrict you as much as the first-person in terms of descriptions and such.

Question of the Day, January 26, 2011

I'd be interesting in writing the story (creative writing minor here), but it's not a goal of mine. It would be an incredible opportunity though.

    281: Fresh Frontiers

One of my favorite things about Eternal Darkness was the use of unusual (to videogames, that is) settings to provide the backdrop to each of the game's sections. If you haven't played the game or aren't too familiar with it, you play as twelve different characters, each occupying its own unique...

Enemies You Always Have and Always Will Take Seriously...

The aliens that attack the Romani Ranch in Majora's Mask. Without a doubt. I don't how many times I failed, but I was always overwhelmed before dawn. After a while that music started sounding like Pavlov's bell, if the bell meant that Pavlov was about to beat his dog. I was trying to get all...

Gaming Euphoria: the last time you felt it.

I was going to say something about Shadow of the Colussus, but it seems you got there first. You made a good point about the environment; the landscape plays a huge role in the game and gives the game a very natural, serene feel. Even the battles don't come across as choppy God of War-esque...

    Peoples list of Fantasy Cliches

Elements pulled right out of middle earth, ie elves, dwarves, "halflings", etc. The typical there-and-back-again Bildungsroman plot. I've been gradually planning a fantasy novel I'll work on sometime in the future, and I'm consciously trying to avoid a lot of the typical fantasy cliches...

    forgotten characters

I played the recent PSP port, I definitely have to agree with you. What happened to Kyle Katarn, by the way?

Poll: What's your (current) favourite genre of music?

Jazz at the moment, I'm focusing on jazz drumming right now and just got Time Out and Naked City.

Most unoriginal or all around bad song lyrics?

Reagan made the same mistake. That turned out pretty awkward. Anyway, on a slightly more positive note: these lyrics might seem bad at first glance but if you still think so after listening to the song, I pity you. "Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, more human than human, more human than human, more...

    239: Journey Into Darkness

I bought this game at Best Buy because it was only $20 and it looked like an interesting FPS. It turned out to have great action, an amazing story, and the end credits are also what first got me interested in Mike Patton's music. So it's great all around. Don't let the Unskippable episode...

    So I uploaded some songs...

I have a few other songs that I haven't recorded yet that fit the hard rock description a bit more, I guess I was just thinking of that. Although I'd like to think that I rock out a bit during the last half of When It All Comes Down ;)

    So I uploaded some songs...

I've been writing my own songs for a while now, so I finally decided to put a few of them online for the world to listen to. I have a pretty cheap set-up (macbook and mic), so obviously they're just demos. I'd kind of like to know what some other people thought of them though. I uploaded...
