Update: Fan "Fixes" Mass Effect 3 Ending With A 539-Page Rewrite

Yes you did invent it. You took "deus ex machina" and reduced it to "machina". (You didn't invent the word, that's obvious. And we already know the meaning of the word machina.) You used that word in a different way; apparently, without much reasoning. In fact, you didn't quite grasp what a...

Update: Fan "Fixes" Mass Effect 3 Ending With A 539-Page Rewrite

I expect you to define a new term when you invent it, and start using, yes. (Whether it's derivative of another term is irrelevant.) I am the confused one here, and I am asking a simple question: what do you mean?

Update: Fan "Fixes" Mass Effect 3 Ending With A 539-Page Rewrite

Sure...while I'm aware that machina means machine, "deus ex machina" is an established term for a plot device. It comes from the historical stage control of having a crane-like device lift an object onto the stage, to represent a god or supernatural force coming down to deal with the mundane...

Update: Fan "Fixes" Mass Effect 3 Ending With A 539-Page Rewrite

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AssPull You need to brush up on your terms then. There's nothing wrong with calling something what it is, regardless of your emotional reaction to words. This is the TV tropes description. It is synonymous with deus ex machina (a term which you seem...

I use objective observations in pretty much all my analyses, thanks.

Update: Fan "Fixes" Mass Effect 3 Ending With A 539-Page Rewrite

Hostile? Where? If you learn something, that's what matters. You yourself stated that ME2 was a "total mess." Well guess what? This is a trilogy. Stories are built upon themselves. If the second chapter has faulty structure, the third is sure to follow that mess. Internal consistency...

Update: Fan "Fixes" Mass Effect 3 Ending With A 539-Page Rewrite

The rest of "us" refers to everyone who sees that ME3 is a goddamned pile of nonsense. And have the brain to explain why. Hence, "The rest of us, who have thinking minds, can see the problems of such parts of the narrative." So, what's your point? He wrote crap, and I called it that...

"It's not even in any way like the traditional game endings, where you can say how many endings there are or whether you got ending A, B, or C." -- Casey Hudson I anxiously await your non-interpretation. http://i.imgur.com/Kd2sj.png

    Best Game Soundtrack EVER!

Chrono Cross, by leaps and bounds. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, for ethereal bliss. The Suikoden series, mostly I and II, for just having some excellent scenes to go with the music. That guitar music in Suikoden I gave it quite a mature feel despite being a first generation PSX title.

Mass Effect 2's Nudity Level Decided by Dictatorship

Although I also believe nudity wouldn't have really added to anything, I don't see this great story that Mass Effect 2 has...

    Unskippable: Lost Odyssey

Absolutely brilliant. That was one of the stupidest war scenes I've ever seen in a video game, hats, ridiculous siege weapons and all (this from a guy who got through half the game.) I was hoping for a Fallout 3 reference near the end there, but man, you guys did it again!

Zero Punctuation: The World Ends With You

I felt most of Yahtzee's entertaining rant was about JRPG's, instead of about TWEWY good/bad qualities. I don't even think of TWEWY being a JRPG, even if it was styled by Nomura, and made by Jupiter/Square-Enix. Actual points: 1) Bad Storytelling Storytelling/dialog is merely wheeling...
